Verizon yahoo mail

Mail Migration

Migration is defined as taking an unattached VOL account and migrating it toVerizon Yahoo! There are 2 migration scenarios.

Migrating new VOL customers ~ Through the new VOL CDMigrating existing VOL customers ~ By going to http://verizon.net/getyahoo

Note: Once a customer is already Yahoo! in CSR tools, they can no longer go

to verizon.net/getyahoo in order to download the Yahoo! software.Customers must go to Member Center to do this.

Migrating a primary VOL Account:

What is required?~ In order to migrate a primary VOL e-mail account to Yahoo!

a customer must have both a Self Selected User ID (SSUID) and a VZ ID.

How do you Migrate a primary account to Yahoo?~ Customers can be directed to http://verizon.net/getyahoo.

Once the customer accepts the terms of service their portal choice will change to

Migrating VOL Sub Accounts:

NOTE: Verizon sub accounts will not automatically migrate to Yahoo! afterthe primary account has done so.How do you migrate VOL sub accounts to Yahoo?~ Customers would be required to sign in to the Verizon Yahoo! portal page athttp://verizon.yahoo.com separately with each unattached VOL sub account.

At that point the customer would be prompted to migrate to Yahoo!NOTE: Agents should verify in CSR tools that the Primary VOL accountis "Enabled" within the Mail Provisioning Status. Sub accounts cannotmigrate if mail is in migration.

Account linking is defined as linking a free @yahoo.com account to their VOLaccount. There are 2 benefits of linking a free @yahoo.com account to their

Verizon account.

Email Policies

Spam Filtering Policy (Formerly Blacklisting)

Verizon reserves the right to block or filter IPs or domains identified

as known sources of spam, which often consists of viruses, phishing andother email threats. These actions are taken to protect both Verizonand its customers.

Email boxes that are not used for four months or more will be closed and

will show as Dormant in CSR Tools. If customers do not access their emailbox to: read messages, send messages, log-in to NetMail or set up the

automatic forwarding of messages, their email box will be closed.Once closed (Dormant), customers email boxes can be reopened at any timefor as long as they subscribe to Verizon Online service. They will not loseany personalization (e.g., folders, address book entries, preferences, etc.)

that they have made to their email boxes.Customers Verizon Online email address and alias will not change or bereassigned to anyone else while they are a Verizon Online subscriber.

Messages in their email box prior to it becoming closed will be stored inaccordance with Verizon Onlines Email Retention policy.

Email Retention Policy

Email Box Messages Verizon Online will retain messages in your email boxfor up to 30 calendar days. Messages in your email box that are more than 30calendar days old are automatically deleted.

Customers @Verizon.net email box was locked after at least 120days of non-usage (messages were not downloaded or sent). Ask customer if they wouldlike their mailbox reactivated, use CSR Tools to reactivate the account. Ifmailbox was already reactivated, troubleshoot email issues following standardprocedures."

Technical Support:CSR Tools was updated with a new button to allow Technical Support Agents to

unlock these locked email boxes. The boxes will reactivate within five minutes.VOL will begin temporarily locking these email boxes. Once locked, customers willbe able to reactivate the boxes by calling Tech support. (These email boxes can

include parent and child accounts.)
