Fall is once again uponus when the nights arecooler…and with cool-er nights, comes cooler mornings and that meansthat we will be using our heaters more. Let’s set our

thermostats for 70ª. If your unit does not have anautomatic setback fea-ture, you might look intogetting one. It will save

money on your heating bills.

Also, check your furnace fil-ters and clean or replace them.Remember, the rule of thumb for filters, is change them every 30days during the heating seasonand you will save dollars.

You will notice that last monthour new street signs were finallybeing installed. After several “mis-fires” on the start date becauseof supplier issues installation wascommenced during the first week of October. We want to thank allof you for being courteous to thevendor that was doing the instal-lation. The vendor said that manypeople came out to visit and afew even offered cool drinks tothe workers digging the holes tohold the new signs.

We would ask you all to keep alook out for an individual that justloves the idea of having their own

“solar lights” but does not want topurchase their own. We have hadseveral residents that have theirsstolen from their front yards.

Work is ongoing on the perim-eter fencing on the West Side ofthe park as a result of the fire lastmonth.

We are working on the roof onthe storage areas adjacent to thepool and main club house. Pleasedrive safely on Granada Circle asthere may be crews with trucks atthe junction of Salamanca andGranada Circle.

Hmmm…let's see... what check goes with what lot?.....

From Jeff... please provide me

with some additional help. If youare using the after hours mail dropfor your rent check, please putyour check with the top portionof your monthly statement in anenvelope. An envelope is pro-vided with your statement AND ithasn't even been glued closed.Please help me.

Mr. G's Corner

Winter is going to be here soonand with that, the rains will be

coming down.

Please insure that the gutter in-front of your home is free of leavesand debris. This will help keep the

storm drains draining.

Mr. G is running around likecrazy attempting to get thingsready for the rainy season.

Some one is dumping oil downthe drains in the Southern Car

wash and causing a backup.If you spy someone doing thisremind them that is not allowed.

Mr. G has had the rear gaterepaired several times this lastmonth and has overseen thereplanting of our color at vari-ous places within the park. Pleaseenjoy.

Please call should you havequestions.

Grease is the #1 problem with our Park’s sewers. Fat-Free Sewers:

How to prevent fats, oils, and greases fromdamaging your home and the Environment.

Where does the grease come from?A by-product of cooking, grease comes from

meat fats, lard, oil, shortening, butter, margarine,food scraps, baking goods, sauces, and dairy prod-

ucts. When washed down the sink, grease sticks tothe insides of sewer pipes (both on your property andin the streets). Over time, it can build up and block the entire pipe.

Caution: Home garbage disposals do not keepgrease out of the plumbing system. Products, such asdetergents, that claim to dissolve grease may pass itdown the line and cause problems elsewhere.

The results can be:

• Raw sewage overflowing in your home or your neighbor’s home;

• Raw sewage overflowing into parks, yards, andstreets;

• Potential contact with disease-causing organisms;

• An expensive and unpleasant cleanup that oftenmust be paid for by you, the home or businessowner; and

• An increase in operation and maintenance costsfor local sewer departments, which causes higher sewer bills for customers.

What you can do to help;

Help prevent sewer overflows by

• Never pouring grease down sink drains or into toi-

lets;• Scraping grease and food scraps into a can or the trash for disposal (or recycling where avail-able);

• Putting baskets/strainers in sink drains to catchfood scraps, and other solids, and emptying theminto the trash; and

• Speaking with your friends and neighbors abouthow to keep grease out of sewers.
