Loyal Knight Marcya Holguin

Hello Fellow Elks, The year is quickly coming to an end and I hope you get a chance to enjoy some of the remaining activities we have going on leading up to our New Year's Eve Party. We appreciate all who participate in volunteering to help with events or even those who just take the time to attend them. It is great to see the amazing turn outs we have had lately, which helps raise money for our charities as well as the lodge to help maintain our building. So I hope to see everyone soon whether it be Sunday breakfast, hamburger night, steak night, fish fry, our weekly meetings, and any other event coming up. Such as our Tom and Jerry event, Kids Christmas party, New Year's Eve Party, etc. I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season. Seasons Greetings,

Marcya Holguin, Esteemed Loyal Knight

Lecturing Knight Gustavo Huerta

Please come out and support your Elks with all the fun activities that are planned this Holiday season, just a reminder that during these seasons there are always families and friends in need. Please clean out those pantries at home and contribute any way you can to our local food bank. Now more than ever will be a good time to pick up an extra can of food and donate. Please continue to support our lodge activities, Sunday breakfast, Tuesday hamburger night, fish fries. I would like to thank all our lodge members who stepped up the month of October and help us out in the kitchen with Tuesday hamburger night. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.

We had a great Halloween Costume Party in support of our Lodge contributions to the ENF. Thanks to all the members who supported the event, along with their guests, our Lodge will exceed the GER’s per capita target of $4.60. By doing so, Gardena #1919 will qualify for the $2000 Gratitude Grant! In recent years, we have donated the proceeds to our Gardena Community Pantry, New Horizon Ministries Fresh Rescue Food Bank, and our neighbors at Denker Elementary School. Each of these organizations has benefitted from the donation of our Gratitude Grant. Though donations do qualify, we are encouraged to consider using the Gratitude Grant in an active way. The idea is to serve our community in ways that will raise our Lodge's profile, energize the membership, encourage former members to return to the fold, and gain the notice of people who want to be part of an organization that's doing big things. If you have a project or potential use for the Grant this year, please come to a meeting and present it to our membership in attendance. Remember, the mission of the Elks National Foundation is to help Elks build stronger communities. This is just one of many opportunities to do just that! Thanks Tish McCauley
