Meaning of Life

Life is an awesome opportunity given to everyone. How you treat life determines how your life goes. There are a lot of meanings to life all said in different ways, but for me I think the meaning of life is finding what you love to do and never stop doing it.

You start out not knowing anything. Trying to find your place and get comfortable. You then realize that to achieve things you have to step out of your comfort zone. Great things happen when you are out of your comfort zone such as meeting a girl, getting a job, or buying a house. These all are checkpoints in your life. The most important thing throughout all of these checkpoints and your life is to find what you love doing and never stop doing it. Doing this will make you happy no matter what, and isn’t that what its all about? Who cares what other people think as long as you love what you're doing. Family and faith also come in with the happiness you get from doing what you love. Life gives you that opportunity to do anything you want with it. Make sure you do exactly what you want, and don’t let anything stop you!

The People

Most Influential

I like to think I live my life doing exactly what I want, when I want, and with whom I want. That’s not exactly how it turns out. I surround myself everyday with people that influence the way I live. My parents are awesome and all my friends are the bomb, but I believe the most influential figures in my life are my brothers.

Kevin, the 21-year-old baseball jock, is more or less the older brunette version of me. We share a lot of interests and I feel like we relate and react to situations the exact same. Bradley, the book-reading apple-eating genius, shows more of the other side of me. He is always fun to be around and very light-hearted. I’ve been told and I’m beginning to believe it’s true that I am a 50-50 mix of both of them. The things they do and tell me have taught me so much in life. They experience it and then help me create my own path through the same thing. We laugh, we fight, we experience, and most importantly we love each other. We are all so alike that we fight to be different, but in the worst and best times we know we will always be there for one another. (213)

The People

Brotherly Ways

I have two brothers, Kevin and Bradley. They are both older than me, so that makes me the youngest spoiled one. Being a brother has its ups and downs, but it is definitely all worth it. You’re born a brother and you can’t change that so it creates a very strong love from brother to brother. The things I have learned from being a brother I may never know but i hope to appreciate in time.

Having two brothers is sometimes crazy and hectic, but it’s the wild journey that makes the better story in the end. Advantages include learning from their mistakes, having connections from their friends, and most importantly also having two best friends for your whole life. Along with the advantages, some disadvantages are fighting with them, sharing with them, and even sometimes being jealous of them. With all of those said, I honestly believe that the good outweighs the bad and I am a very fortunate kid to have the brothers I have. They have shaped who I am today. They influence the way I act, the way I talk, and the way I live. Being a brother may be the greatest natural position a person could ever be put into. (205)

Memories

How to be remembered

One day I inspire to be a successful man in this advanced world. What I’ve been and who I am is what will make this happen. I look for the positives in things and I believe taking risks is what leads to opportunity. Sports, friends, and family are what make you, but also the decisions you make shape your charisma. I not only want to be remembered for what I do, but also for what I want.

I, a competitive at nature, nice at heart, young man, want to be more successful than the one next to me. I want to gain the advantage and win exactly what I am doing. With who I am today, I believe people will remember me at a strategist. The outside perception of me may be inaccurate by the way I look, but inside I am thinking about how I can beat you. I can say I do want the best for my family and friends. Honestly I want what is best for me as well. To be remembered as a hard worker isn’t enough for me. I want to be remembered as the man who can get it done. But truth lies in the fact that being remembered doesn’t justify anything unless you achieve what you dream of. (225)

Memories

Miss about high school

High school has certainly been a journey. I feel that I have taken advantage of my opportunities, and I have no regrets pertaining to my career as a high schooler. Friends have been made, and grades have been earned, but throughout it all I will miss the kid-like charisma i have as a student in high school.

High school is where you get your last chance to act like a kid and resist growing up. I know college will be fun, but there is a butt load more responsibility as you are beginning to enter the real world. My parents won’t be there to make my problems go away and I will have to set my own schedules. I believe that I am ready for this all, but I know I will miss the guidance I was given in high school. But with this responsibility comes a lot more freedom. College, which most kids enjoy, will be a mix of preparing me to enter the real world while meeting a whole new network of connections. Leaving home and entering college will be the greatest test of my life, but i am ready to put forth the effort to exceed my expectations. (203)

Achievements

Greatest triumph

The day was April 13th, 2013. The Fishers Tigers baseball team was hosting their cross town rival, the HSE Royals. The weather was cloudy, but still suitable to play. Everyone was going to be there. This was the mudsock game. One game, two teams, only one shall prevail victorious.

The fishers tigers baseball team was my team, and we had prepared for this game for weeks. The game started out close 2-1, then 3-1. We were losing in, and it was already the sixth inning. I was set to lead off the bottom of the sixth. Everyone knew a rally needed to be started now. As I stepped into the batter’s box and stared into the eyes of the pitcher, I didn’t think anything. I cleared my mind and thought nothing. The first pitch, right down the middle, I crushed into left-center field. With nothing in my mind, I was thinking just an easy double. As I rounded first base and saw the ball clear the fence and heard the crowd behind home plate go crazy, chills were sent through my body. That rally had just begun; and I was the start of it. With nothing but a smile as I crossed home plate and the crowd continued to yell, I was nothing but happy at that moment. Even though we came up short and lost 3-2, I can easily say that was my most triumphant moment to this date. I proved to myself that I can succeed if I just clear my mind and let what I know how to do happen. (245)

AchievementsGoals for the future

As I step out of high school and into the somewhat real world of college, where there's more fun, but also a lot more responsibility, I have goals for my future. I want to be the successful hard working man my parents raised me to be. I will do whatever it takes to get exactly what I want.

I plan on attending Indiana University to study Informatics. I am extremely interested in this major not only because the pay out is above average, but because I understand that the world is becoming more advanced through technology, and I want to advance with it. After college is a whole different story. If the opportunity presents itself, I would love to start a business with my best friends who will be coming out of the Kelley School of Business the same year I will be leaving the School of Informatics. If not, I will find a job where I can climb my way to the top. I feel as if I am more of a employer and not an employee. These goals are not too far away from being achieved and I am ready for them. Baseball

• The baseball would represent the whole sport in general which I played my whole life, and what shaped me into who I am today. Baseball also helps show my competitiveness.

Hat

• I wore a hat throughout my childhood almost every day. It was what was comfortable to me, and something I wore to always feel relaxed.

Ping Pong Ball

• The ping pong ball would represent the numerous games of ping pong my friends and I played while we were hanging out. My friends were a huge part of my childhood growing up.

Cheese Nips

• Cheese Nips have been my favorite snack since I can remember.

Dog Collar

"42." Yahoo! Movies. Yahoo, 05 June 2013. Web. 07 May 2013.

42 is a movie released in early 2013 about the baseball star, Jackie Robinson, and his journey. Jackie was the first negro baseball player to play in the MLB. This caused a lot of controversy with the fans and many violent outbreaks occurred throughout his career. Jackie Robinson playing in the MLB meant a lot more that just a black man in a white man’s league though. He had broken the color barrier between whites and blacks in baseball, which is America’s pastime.

The movie was an awesome representation of the true story. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and became one of the most famous baseball players to ever play. There is now a day in which he is recognized. On this day every single MLB player gets to wear a jersey with the number 42 on the back of it. The number 42 now represents the freedom we have today in America. Jackie Robinson is now in the hall of fame and will forever be there for his courageous actions as well as his incredible talent. The movie was a great hit in the theaters, and a even bigger hit in the people of America’s hearts. (205) http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/42/

Space Jump

"Mission to the Edge of Space." Home. Red Bull, 15 Sept. 2012. Web. 08 May 2013.

Felix Baumgartner was the man who had a mission in mind. He took what no one thought was possible and did it. The mission was to jump and free fall from the edge of the stratosphere and land safely. This was a risky mission, but he was determined to do it. With Red Bull as his sponsor, he took himself to the edge of the stratosphere and jumped on live TV.

On the way down, the world held their breath. They knew the potential risk along with the jump. He could pass out if he started spinning. As he entered the clouds people were beginning to freak out. When the parachute blew open, there was a gasp of air and relief. He has done the impossible. He showed the world that if you are determined anything is possible, even jumping from space and surviving. (200)

Global EventsSuper Bowl

Riccobono, Anthony. “When is Super Bowl 2013? Where to watch online, halftime show details, national anthem singer, and more for the biggest football game of the year.” International Business Times. U.S. edition. 18 January 2013. Web. 28 January 2013.

As the winter begins to conclude, the years widely known football game is right around the corner. The Super Bowl is the highest-rated television show of the year. Businesses are aching to advertise, and players are anxious to win. The San Francisco 49ers are planned to take on the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII. Jim and John Harbaugh, two brothers, are now fighting on a bigger stage as head coaches of opposing teams. The champion will take home the Vince Lombardi trophy. Clearly, this super bowl will be one to remember.

Like expected, there is a lot of hype and logistics around the most important football game of the year. Alicia Keys is scheduled to sing the national anthem, and the half time show will be performed by Beyoncé. With all of this happening, this super bowl is predicted to be epic. The brothers, determined and ready, seek victory before their eyes. Seeing this all happen puts things in perspective for me. It says to me that I should never stop going for something that I want. I will thrive upon opportunities, and I do believe anything is possible for the man who wants more. (210) http://www.businesstimes/superbowl2013.com

Boston bombing

"Attacks Like the Boston Bombing Are Nearly Unpreventable." Swampland Attacks Like the Boston Bombing Are Nearly Unpreventable Comments. Time, 06 Apr. 2013. Web. 07 May 2013.

The Boston Marathon is an even that goes on every year. This year was going to be different. Two hours after the first place runner crossed the line, something catastrophic happened. Other racers were crossing the finish line or coming down the home stretch when a bomb went off in a building nearby the finish line. People were shaken and brought to the ground by the explosion. There was an instant panic throughout the city, and in the middle of it another bomb exploded about two buildings down. At this point everyone knew it was a terrorist attack and began to help the victims reach safety.

The instance of these two bombs exploded was an act of terror on our country. It was a sad day for people all of the nation, but we were determined to find the bombers. After days of work, the FBI finally announced they had found the two or three bombers. America was relieved to find out that the bombers had been shot down in the pursuit. The bombing of Boston was awful, but we fought through it as a country and brought it to justice. (212)

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake released one of his greatest albums this January of 2013. This was a really cool thing for music lovers because JT has been out of the game for so long doing acting and other things. The fact that he came back to music made the hype around the album sky rocket. When the album was released there was a rush to the stores to go get it.

The album was a 13 song miracle. He killed every single song and showed us his amazing skill of singing again. Almost every song was 8 minutes long which also made it special. The featured songs, “Suit and Tie”, “Mirrors”, and “Pusher Lover Girl”, went huge. They were all top of the charts singles. JT was back. This caused a crave for more of his music, but who knows when he will release another album because he has an acting career as well. The way JT lives his life is an example and shows that everyone should go out and do exactly what they want, and most likely it will turn out to be a great thing. (206)
