Mentorship OpportunityAre you passionate about diversity and want to share your passion with others? Are you interested in being a mentor and inspiring others to better understand other identities? Then Intercultural Engagement wants YOU as an Intercultural Certificate Program Mentor!

The Intercultural Certificate Program (ICP) is sponsored by Intercultural Engagement and provides students and student leaders with an opportunity to learn cross-cultural skills towards creating a more inclusive community and effective student organization while also developing their cultural competency. All certificate participants must attend the five required workshops pertaining for our five areas (Intercultural Understanding, Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Development) as well as three “electives” (other approved on campus events) over the course of the semester.

ICP mentors are a core part of the Intercultural Certificate Program as they help to engage the ICP participants and open them up to new experiences they would not necessarily participate in otherwise. They serve as more of a support system to reflect upon past and future experiences as well as being the participant’s point of contact. Every mentor gets only one student they work with throughout the entire semester. Each mentor will be required to meet with their participant at least once a month to help students in realizing their individual goals for the program as well as being present for the 5 mandatory workshops alongside their mentee. Each mentor must also provide their information and office hours to the students they consult as to address any further questions. Mentors will also be meeting with the ICP director once a month to discuss progress and address any other issues.

The application is on the link below and they are due November 22nd at 5pm!
