EFFECTIVE PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION UNDER MALAYSIAN LAWS Employers are bound under Malaysian law to adhere to all terms stipulated in the contract of employment. Malaysian laws provide guidelines on how remuneration should be paid and the benefits that should be provided to employees either in cash or in kind. Laws also require that employers, apart from deducting their employees’ salaries, also make a contribution together with the employees for purposes of SOCSO and EPF. Further, the law also requires employers to ensure that the employees adhere to income tax rules. Failure to follow the laws correctly may result in heavy penalties.
