description

For LinkedIn members, education is far more than an early entry on their profile page. New insights shows that professionals at all levels see continued learning as fundamental to their success. And the appetite to keep developing academically doesn’t diminish, no matter how many degrees they hold or how many promotions they secure. Nine out of ten LinkedIn members agree that it’s important to learn new things throughout their life – and a significant number have done something proactive about it. One in three have bought online courses in the past six months, and one in four use the internet to learn an additional language. LinkedIn members with a bachelor degree or higher are 144% more likely than average to start a university course in the next 12 months – and those in director-level roles or above are 62% more likely to do so. In general, LinkedIn members are 135% more likely to have visited an education website in the past month. With the continuing importance of education, it’s no surprise that learning-focused groups generate huge engagement levels on our platform. More than 4.5 million LinkedIn members are part of an education group, and over 15 million are members of one of our 100,000 alumni groups. Scroll down for our infographic with full details of LinkedIn members’ continuing appetite for lifelong learning.
