Page 2: Editing powerpoint

• This is a 2.5 second shot, it is used to esatblish where the family are, how secluded they are and in a way, how safe they are in their temporary seclusion

• The forest scenary could also be seen as foreshadowing because of their used in other horror movies as places of death and fear

Page 3: Editing powerpoint

• This is another 2.5 second shot, it helps to show how close Sarah and Jess are, the child is clearly happy when talking to her mother and visa versa, the type of shot is a two midshot

Page 4: Editing powerpoint

• This shot shows the fathers disinterest in the interactions between Jessica and Sarah.

• Even in the mirror you can see Paul’s eyes directed fully away from them

• The type of shot is a close up

Page 5: Editing powerpoint

• This shot is used to show the daughters reactions to her mother talking to her, it establishes a quick emotional connection between the audience and the girl briefly before her death

• This is another two midshot

Page 6: Editing powerpoint

• This is a 5 second shot of Paul making zero contact with his wife and daughter, purposely separating himself from them

• This reasoning behind this is that he is unhappy with his marriage and is hinted at cheating with Juno

• This is a head and shoulders profile shot

Page 7: Editing powerpoint

• This is a three midshot used to reastablish the fact that they are still a family despite the parents differences

Page 8: Editing powerpoint

• This show is relatively fast paced, it is the start of the crash sequence so it needs to transition slightly so the pacing looks good

Page 9: Editing powerpoint

• These poles are in fact real, as they head towards the car, this shot is also face paced because it is part of an action type sequence

Page 10: Editing powerpoint

• The pole here is CGI, this is why the shot is so fast paced, you can even see the end of the pole become transparent as it hits the windscreen

Page 11: Editing powerpoint

• These poles are very clearly CGI, they phase through the window and become somewhat transparent at one point

• The shot is fast paced to make it appear like Paul does get hit as well as to cover the bad effects

Page 12: Editing powerpoint

• This shot is purely used to show gore from the practical effects, it is fast and shows the pole going through the chair

Page 13: Editing powerpoint

• This is the longest shot in the scene, it ismore than likely a crane/jib shot which moves out from the impact zone to display the whole scene, it moves in a way that shows the pool of blood coming from the back door to insinuate the child is dead.
