community. This lesson will be completed using Houghton Mifflin
Social Studies textbook “Neighborhoods” (p.36-39).
G6.2.2 - Describe neighborhoods and communities as places where

This social studies lesson is for 2nd grade students to create their own
maps of the places in their communities. This lesson will be completed using a strategy from Integrating Language Arts and
Social Studies textbook, Strategy 7 (p.48-54).
G7.2.1 Construct a visual model, i.e., graph, table, and/or choropleth
map of population distribution.Remember to bring example map of
communities.
