Consider your daily routine...Do you eat three meals a day? Will your class schedule, studying, extra cur-ricular activities, and social events interfere with dining? Will you miss dinner due to employment or evening classes?

ECU Campus Dining offers a variety of meal plans to fit your busy sched-ule. Eat in or take out - our meal plans give you the best value around. Use your meal card at any of the all-you-care-to-eat restaurants and retail locations. Purchasing a meal plan will ensure that you will not run out of “food money” at the end of the month. You will be able to take advantage of the meal plan specials, and enjoy a variety of tasty nutri-tious meal options.

Our dining locations feature everything from all-you-care-to-eat buffets, to food courts with national brand restaurants, to regional concepts, to late-night eateries. Whether it is American, sushi, pizza, Mexican fare, or a good “home” cooked meal you crave, we have it all right here for you on ECU’s campus.

Meals can be used in any dining location.

When dining at Todd or West End Dining Halls, one meal is deducted from your balance. As an added bonus, meals can also be used at any other campus dining locations. Just let the cashier know that you would like to use a “meal” to pay for your purchase and the meal equivalency rate for that period will be deducted.

Budget: You never have to worry about running out of ”food money” at the end of the month. Once you buy a meal plan, your plan is inflation-proof.Health: Studies show that students on a meal plan eat healthier and are more satisfied with their dining experience. Even commuters are more satisfied with a meal plan than having to juggle meal planning on their own.Value: Whether it’s the ability to get seconds without paying extra at Todd and West End Dining Hall or a great deal at many of our retail locations, campus dining offers a world of value. The money you save always comes in handy.Convenience: With so many dining locations, great food is just a short walk from anywhere on campus!Time: Studying, shopping for food, cooking, and cleaning up all takes valuable time. Meal equivalency is the cash equivalent of a meal.

If you eat lunch at one of our a la carte locations, a “lunch meal” is worth $3.00 toward your purchase. If the purchase is over $3.00, you pay the difference with your Pirate Bucks account, cash, or credit card.

Signing up for a Meal

There are four convenient ways to sign up for a meal plan. You may indicate your meal plan preference on your housing application, call the ECU Dining Services offi ce at 252-ECU-FOOD or sign up online at www.ecu.edu/dining.

Pirate Plans - Weekly Meal AllowancePirate Plans offer the best value for your dining dollar, provide a set number of meals per week, and are available to all ECU students. One meal may be used per meal period (up to four meals may be used per day).Commuter Meal Plan - Semester Meal AllowanceAvailable exclusively to commuters, these plans provide a set number of meals per semester and include Pirate Bucks. One or more meals may be used per meal period.

Pirate Bucks

All meal plans include Pirate Bucks (accepted at any dining location on campus). Pirate Bucks work just like a debit card. When you make a purchase using Pirate Bucks, the total is subtracted from the balance on your account. Pirate Bucks can be added to your ECU OneCard at any time. You can conveniently add more Pirate Bucks from home by following the link on our Campus Dining home page, or call our office at 252.ECU.FOOD.Pirate Bucks roll over on all plans from the Fall Semester to the Spring Semester; however, Pirate Bucks do not roll over after the Spring Semester is completed.

Countless options let you satisfy any craving wherever and whenever it may hit you. From 7:00am–2:30am, you can find what you want, when you want it. All campus dining locations accept meals, Pirate Bucks, cash, and credit cards. *Numbers after descriptions correlate to locations on the map.

Todd Dining Hall–Residential Restaurant:

Located on College Hill, Todd has a Fresh

Food Company, where the kitchen has moved from the “back of the house” to exhibition cooking stations throughout the restaurant where everything happens right in front of you! This revolutionary way of serving food emphasizes freshness in the products. Todd offers Eastern Carolina Smokehouse Grill in addition to pizza and pasta, exhibition, produce market, deli, grill, vegetarian options, and dessert bar. (16)West End Dining Hall–Residential Restaurant:

This state-of-the-art all-you-care-to-eat residential restaurant is conve-niently located for Central and West Campus students, faculty, and staff. West End Dining Hall is the perfect place to dine and catch up with your friends. Almost all menu items are made right before your eyes! Enjoy a wide array of selections from The Bistro, The Pitt (rotisserie), Reade Street Grill, Wrap and Roll, Fire and

Rice (Mongolian Grill), The Center Isle, Amore, and much more. (21)The Croatan:

The Croatan brings more options and fun to ECU Campus Dining! The “Cro” offers a Chili’s Too and the second Chick-fil-A to our campus. It is located on central campus. (5)

Chili’s Too is a smaller version of the Chili’s Restaurant. Students will love the tasty menu

selections and fun atmosphere.Chick-fil-A Express offers your favorite Chick-fil-A items in a convenient

grab-and-go layout. Fix your crav-ing with items such as the Classic Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Nuggets, Chick-fil-A’s Famous Waffle Fries and much more.Destination 360

Destination 360 offers a wide selection of grab and go items and a variety of beverages to quench your thirst. Enjoy dining, relaxing, and catching up with friends in the large seating area. Destination 360 is located on the first floor of Mendenhall Student Center. (12)

Chick-fil-A Express offers your favorite Chick-fil-A items in a convenient

grab-and-go design. Fix your craving with items such as the Classic Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Nuggets, Chick-fil-A’s Famous Waffle Fries and much more.

Bleecker Street Café features freshly baked artisan breads, pastries and other baked goods, as

well as signature sandwiches and Panini’s, made-to-order with fresh premium meats, cheeses and vegetables. Seasonally inspired gourmet soups and salads compliment the menu offerings, as well as freshly-squeezed orange juice and home-style lemonade.

Pirate Grill is the place where hungry Pirates

go! Choose from made-to-order burg-ers, cheese steaks, quesadillas, and more! For breakfast, enjoy our full menu including biscuits, sandwiches, omelets and breakfast burritos.

Sushi made fresh daily by our very own Sushi Chefs, the menu includes

California Rolls, Vegetable Rolls, Spicy Tuna, and much more.

Blimpie Subs & Salads is located on the 1st floor of the Allied Health Sciences

Building on ECU’s Medical Campus. Blimpie offers a selection of signature sandwiches, fresh sliced

subs, hot subs, Panini grilled sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and sides. For breakfast, enjoy croissant sandwiches, bluffins and biscuits. In a hurry? Blimpie offers hot and cold grab and go items.The Wright Place

The Wright Place, located next door to the Student Stores on central campus, is a hub of activity between classes. The Wright Place is perfect for an entire meal or just a quick bite with a complete line of beverages and snacks. (20)

Einstein Bros. offers a great tasting selection of famous bagels and smears, Darn Good Coffee, crisp, fresh

salads, decadent sweets, and eclectic sandwiches made with high quality ingredients.

Enjoy your favorite Starbucks beverages in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Get your caffeine buzz on demand or just drop into the waiting arms of a big comfy couch while you enjoy wireless internet access as rich coffee aromas and the scent of baked goods fill the air.

At Burger Studio it is the sizzle of the grill and the smell of the great food

that keeps students coming back for more. Students can create their own sandwich masterpiece.

At Cupola’s, enjoy hand-stretched pizzas, an

array of pastas, fresh salads and Italian inspired entrees.

The Galley

Located on the first floor of Jones Residence Hall on College Hill, The Galley offers a mouth-watering selection of menu items in a food court experience. A variety of flavors will tempt you at our College Hill Grill, Bène Pizzeria, Señor Pee Dee’s, and Subway. (11)College Hill Grill offers breakfast

favorites like biscuits, pancakes, and omelets, and a sizzling lunch

and dinner menu. Chicken tenders, burgers and fries are served hot and fresh daily.Senior Pee Dee’s offers a Tex-Mex

style menu featuring overstuffed chicken,

steak, and Portobello Mushroom burritos, quesadillas, and tacos. Taco salads and loaded chicken, steak, and veggie nachos are also available.

Everybody loves pizza! Bène Pizzeria offers not only a

variety of pizza, but an array of

calzones, rollettos, and more! SUBWAY® restaurant offers a delicious

variety of foot long and 6-inch sandwiches, salads and wraps that are made with a wide assortment of meats, cheeses, vegetables and toppings. Your meal is prepared right before your eyes, just the way you like it. Pirate Market & Java City

Pirate Market is a full size convenience store located in Jones Residence Hall on College Hill. Also located in

Pirate Market is Java City, offering a full line of specialty coffee beverages and smoothies. Reade Street Market & SubwayReade Street Market is a full size

convenience store located next to West End Dining Hall on West Campus. Also located in Reade Street Market, is Subway, offering a full line of made-to-order subs and salads. Open late, stop by Reade Street Market for all your shopping needs, including frozen foods, bever-ages, organic foods, vegetarian and vegan entrees, snacks, microwave-able meals, candy, cookies, crackers, health and beauty products, cleaning supplies, and paper products. The C3 Express kiosk is a modular, mini- store offering items for immediate

consumption, such as ready-to-eat snacks, salads, sandwiches, and beverages (including Starbucks® coffee). There are two C3 Express locations on campus. One is located on the fi rst fl oor of the Bate building. (22) The other is located on the fi rst fl oor of the Carol Belk building.Java City at Joyner Library

Conveniently located on the fi rst fl oor of Joyner Library, students, staff, and faculty can enjoy a cup of “java”

Java City at Mendenhall Student Center

Located at the hub of activity in thestudent center beside the SGA offi ces. This convenient location is great

for students living on west campus or going to Hendrix to watch a movie. (12)Java City at Cardiovascular

Conveniently located on the fi rst fl oor of the Cardiovascular building, students, staff, faculty, and

visitors can enjoy a cup of “java” before and after studying or work. Java City offers a variety of specialty coffees. Not into coffee? Try one of our smoothies! Java City also offers salads, sandwiches and bakery items. Marie’s PlaceLocated in Minges Coliseum, near the commuter bus stop. This snack bar features hot items, coffee, sodas, bottled water, and other quick items to grab on your way to class or before catching the bus.

Reusable To Go Program

Students can purchase a To Go container and water bottle at Todd & West End Dining Halls for $5.99. Our Reusable program is easy and convenient! Just present your tag to the cashier at Todd or West End Din-ing Hall and receive your reusable to go tray and water bottle! When you’re finished, empty and return your box at drop off locations found in both dining halls. Then decide whether you would like a clean to go box or a tag to turn in for to go at a later time!

Green Fact:The Croatan is East Carolina University’s

first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design building (LEED). LEED buildings contain specail lighting, ecologically-friendly landscaping, and special water cisterns are incorporated

into the designs.The bricks used along the exterior of the Croatan builing were reclaimed from an

old tobacco warehouse in North Carolina. The large windows used allow for natural light to come in, minimizing use of fossil fuels and enabling the use

of more interesting interior décor.

FAQs Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of a Meal Plan?Don’t worry about cash or credit cards and save on your dining purchases whenever you use your meal plan or Piratet Bucks. Meal plans and Pirate Bucks are accepted at all Campus Dining Locations.Which meal plan should I get?Our most popular meal plan is the Pirate 14, but it depends on your eating habits.What will my meal plan cover?You can spend the allowed retail credit for each meal or you can choose a daily meal plan combo at the place of your choice.Can I carry over my unused meals to the next week?It depends on your plan. If you have any of the Pirate Plans, you have a set number of meals per week; at closing on Sunday night, your unused meals for the week expire. However, if you have any of the Commuter Plans, you have a set number of meals per semester and they rollover week to week, but not semester to semester. All meal plans conclude at the end of the semester.

Will my Pirate Bucks rollover to next semester?Yes! Any unused Pirate Bucks from the fall semester will rollover to the spring semester. However, unused Pirate Bucks from the spring semester will not rollover to the next fall semester.What do I do if my Pirate Bucks are running low?The same thing you do if your debit card balance runs low, simply make a deposit to your account by cash, check, money order, or credit card. Go to the Campus Dining Office in Jones Residence Hall, tell them you want to replenish your Pirate Bucks and they’ll take care of you. You may also call (252) ECU-FOOD to get redeposit options or go online to www.ecu.edu/campusdining and follow the Pirate Bucks link.Can I use my financial aid to pay for a meal plan?If you receive financial aid, you may waive payment for a Meal Plan until you receive your aid. To do so, the Office of Student Financial Aid must issue a deferment through the cashier’s office.
