Retrofitting solution and new plant option for protective gas savings of up to 40 %

In the past, many efforts were made to prevent the penetration of air oxygen into the charge room of wire mesh belt furnace plants. Neither flame curtains nor other curtains, such as ceramic fiber curtains, were satisfying regarding the process and the energy efficiency. Now the SAFED engineers have developed and brought to serial production a solution which prevents the penetration of air oxygen efficiently - the SAFED . It can be retrofitted to existing plants upon replacement of the muffle as well as ordered as an option with new plants.

As you can see in the adjacent scheme of the , a vertical (from bottom to top) flow of "sealing gas" (gray) is produced in addition to the flame curtain (red), which efficiently prevents the penetration of air (green) into the furnace chamber and, simultaneously, the leakage of protective gas from the furnace chamber.
