Transcript of EASA Part 66 Module 15.6 : Turbine
PURPOSE
• To drive the compressor• Absorb a high proportion of energy of gas
stream and converting into torque.
TYPE OF TURBINE1.Impulsive type 2.Reaction type
3.Impulsive/reaction
4. Radial Inflow type
TURBINE ATTACHMENT
High Pressure Attachment
Low Pressure Attachment
BLADE TO DISK ATTACHMENT
COOLING TURBINE BLADE
NOZZLE GUIDE VANE• Direct airflow to turbine blade• Convert pressure energy into kinetic energy• Air flow become spin and swirl
BLADE STRESS AND CREEP
• Creep is due to blade grow in length due to high temperature and centrifugal force(stress)
• Stretch of blade occur in 3 stage :– 1st stage: rapid extention and decrease– 2nd stage : Constant rate of expansion– 3rd stage : Rapid extention and failure occur
• Improve grain structure and properties can improve service life
