Amadeus in Mumbai celebrated Gokulashtami with great spirit and gung ho. On 3rd September 2007 on the eve of the festive day, Amadeus Mumbai was in news again for a special band of white collared ‘makhan chors’ who ‘makhan chors’ who ‘makhan chors’were spotted roaming around the city carrying handis. Amadeus India comes out trumps in the Brand Compliance Challenge

It was India all the way at the Brand Compliance challenge awards held on 12th July 2007 at Nice, France as they bagged the prestigious ‘Gold’ award for achieving excellence in the application of the Amadeus brand in the Indian market. A brand survey was conducted across all AmadeusCommercial Organisations (ACO’s) worldwide to assess the level of conformity & consistency of each market to the Amadeus brand with a host of marketing initiatives in the contention for the Gold, Silver and Bronze level. The survey included a set of key questions pertaining to the Amadeus brand and product line and each set received substantial percentage of voting. Amadeus India has been at the forefront in the Asia Pacifi c region in applying the brand guidelines and measures, effi ciently and effectively, across various communication channels and this award is an endorsement to the efforts and the brand visibility in this part of the world. Kudos to the Amadeus India team for this outstanding achievement.

Amadeus sponsors TAFI Agents Dinner

The Amadeus team in Bangalore gave a presentation on Amadeus’ product suite to TAFI members - Karnataka chapter on 22 June 2007. The evening was well attended by over 50 members comprising of leading travel agents from Karnataka. Mr. Jimmy Alexander, Chairman, TAFI Karnataka chapter addressed the gathering with a welcome speech, followed by a brief introduction by Ms. Sharmila Bhatia Kharab, GM- Key Accounts & South as well as an In-depth presentation about the products was given by Ms. Monisha Shoban. Online and front offi ce products like the Value Pricer and Low Fare search were very well received by the travel agents. Amadeus was also the proud sponsor for the event and the guests relished the scrumptious buffet spread & cocktails.

Awards and accolades for Amadeus

Amadeus India won the award for commitment for fares at the Asia Pacifi c Regional Operations Forum 2007. Anita Anderson, Senior Products Manager and Dorothy Doh gave the award to Harsimrat Kaur and Ankur Khurana from Amadeus India. Yet another feather in our cap. Congratulations to our products and Customer Service teams and all its champions who have made this happen.

Amadeus celebrates Gokulashtami in Mumbai

Many were in for a shock as the team kept on asking for the agents to break the handi. The response within the travel and trade was tremendous and the team showed excellent coordination and zeal in completing the distributions. The festival was thus celebrated by Amadeus Mumbai with great joy and communal togetherness.

Amadeus participates in the IIIrd regional Uniglobe conference in Singapore

Amadeus wins cricket match with MakemytripThe crisp clear morning of 15th of September

saw our Amadeus champions heading for the Venkateshwara college ground in Delhi. The team lead by Henry Moses created a splash and won the match against Makemytrip.com. Amadeus batted fi rst and played the full 25 over, scoring 184 runs. Arimardan Saraswat from Delhi Sales was the highest scorer with 56 runs and right behind him was Sunny Sharma, who was later declared as the ‘Man of the Match’ with 46 runs and 3 wickets. Kudos to the Amadeus team for such a brilliant performance!

Amadeus supports ITH’s press conferenceAmadeus sponsored a press conference held by

International Travel House (ITH) on 22 September 2007 at Taj Hotel in the ‘City Beautiful’, Chandigarh. The agenda was to announce the opening of ITH’s new branch offi ce in Chandigarh amidst a host of media representatives and members from the ITH team.

Anil Bhandari, Managing Director, ITH addressed the press and threw light on the travel house’s initiatives in this region. Representing Amadeus at the press conference were Jason Pote, Neha Priyanka and Preeti Arora from theMultinational Sales team in Delhi. The conference culminated over snacks and buffet lunch for the gathering.

Amadeus participates at TAFI Convention

The Travel Agents Federation of India held its annual convention at the picturesque location of Sutera Harbor Resort in the exotic island of Borneo, Kota Kinabalu (Sabah, East Malaysia) from 6-9 September 2007. The convention saw the coming together of the travel and trade fraternity from India. Amadeus India, as every year, participated with full spirits and sponsored the cocktails and entertainment for the second night. A special Malaysian dance troop performed on some foot tapping bollywood numbers which were enjoyed by one and all. Representing the group was a delegation comprising of Rakesh Bansal, Henry Moses, CharlesCarneiro, Sharmila Bhatia Kharab, Ravi Jakkula, Jacob Pullan, Yogesh Tabib, V.Gopalkrishnan and Arghya Mitra.

Amadeus India participated in the IIIrd regional Uniglobe Travel South Asia Conference held in Singapore from the 30th September to 2nd October 2007. Amadeus being the key partner for the event and the sponsors for the dinner on the second night, attracted all Uniglobe agents from across India. The Amadeus delegation comprised of Ravi Chandra (Regional Manager – North and Key Accounts, Indian subcontinent), Swati Bhatia Ahluwalia (Head-Front Offi ce Products and Solutions), Jason Pote (Manager Multinational Sales) and Charles Carneiro (Head – Marketing and Corporate Communications) from Amadeus India. A special presentation was made to some of the key account personnel by Swati Bhatia Ahluwalia in the supplier market place programaimed to attract front line staff from over 25 franchiselocations including agency owners from various parts of the country. Not far behind was Charles Carneiro who made an extensive presentation on the future of travel which gave extensive insights to the travel and trade industry.

The annual TAAI Convention was held from the 5th – 8th October 2007 at the Chennai Trade Centre. Amadeus was one of the participants at this year’s convention, which was attended in huge numbers by the travel & tourism fraternity. A stylized booth with a comprehensive product suite of Amadeus was showcased with special focus on the various business verticals. Representing Amadeus at the convention was a delegation comprising of Charles Carneiro, Henry Moses, Swati Bhatia, Ravi Chandra, Noopur Chablani and Shruti Malhotra from the head offi ce in Delhi while Gopal Krishnan from the Chennai offi ce. Amidst the huge audience, the Amadeus team mingled with the guests and showcased the innovative products & solutions. Adding to the fervour, the guests were treated to some beer and traditional south Indian snacks. Last but not the least, Amadeus also won the award for best stall design at the convention, a second one in a row. Here’s wishing the very best for the next year, and also hoping to reach a hat-trick for the same.

the glamour…the music…the excitement that’s the magic of Bollywood. Amadeus recreated the magic by screening the much awaited Yash Raj movie “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom” at Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata and Kathmandu. Though the movie fell a wee bit short of the high expectations that were attached to it, but ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ verily delivered what it promised – unadulterated entertainment.

movie “Chak De India” on the 11th and 14th August, at PVR Priya theatre Delhi. All shows were packed to the capacity and the travel fraternity thronged to the theatre to catch the excitement of the riveting fi lm. With our 60th Independence Day just round the corner, the movie stirred up patriotism inside all that were present. Despite the fact that ‘sports’ is not a popular genre in Bollywood, the fi lm undoubtedly kept everyone on the edge of their seats asking for more.

Amadeus honours top agents amidst Bollywood fanfare

It was an evening full of glitz & glamour as Yash Raj Films along with the Bird Group organized a star-studded event to showcase & promote the latest offering from its stable, “Aaja Nachle”. It was the perfect setting for a show full of music and colour as the entire cast & crew of the movie were present to woo the audience. Present on the ocassion were some of the stars of the movie including Kunal Kapoor, singer Sunidhi Chauhan along with a dance troop of famous

choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant that mesmerized the 5000-odd gathering at the picturesque Amphiteatre of Ansal Plaza, New Delhi, with their performance on the foot tapping numbers from the movie. The highlight of the evening was the diva herself, Mrs. Madhuri Dixit Nene, making a comeback to the silver screen after a long hiatus. She interacted with the live audience and also entertained them with some dance moves from the fi lm’s title track. It was a perfect opportunity

for Amadeus to felicitate its travel partners for their Outstanding Productivity for the year 2006-2007. Mr. Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director, Bird Group and Mrs. Madhuri Dixit Nene presented the awards to the winning agents’ amidst a host of prominent members from the travel trade and the entertainment world. After the conclusion of the awards ceremony, the stars of the movie joined the Amadeus sales team and their guests at Hotel Taj Mahal, Mansingh Road for a private dinner.
