What are fibroids?Fibroids are muscular tumors that grow in the walls of the uterus (womb). Another medical term for fibroids is “Leiomyoma” (leye-oh-meye-OH-muh) or just “myoma”

Fibroids are almost always benign (non cancerous). They can grow as a single tumor or they can be many of them in the uterus. They can be as small as an apple seed or as big as a grapefruit. In an unusual cases, they can become very large.

3Product details dYNa rHCtd,Rarely, less than one in 1000, a cancerous fibroid will grow. This is called leiomyosarcoma (leye-oh-meye-oh-sar-KOH-muh).

Doctors think that these cancers do not arise from an already existing fibroid, havingfibroids does not increase the risk of developing cancerous fibroids and does not increase a woman’s chances of getting other forms of cancer in the uterus.

Where can they grow?Most fibroids grow in the walls of the uterus, and Doctors put them into five groupsbased on where they grow:Submucosal: (sub-myoo-KOH-zuhl)Fibroids that grow into the cavity of the uterus.Intramural: (ihn-truh-MYOOR-uhl).Fibroids that grow within the wall of the uterus.Subserosal: (sub-suh-ROH-zuhl).Fibroids that grow on the outside of the uterus.Pedunculated: (pih-DUHN-kyoo-lay-ted) Fibroids that grow on the stalks that grow out from the surface of the uterus or into the cavity of the uterus. They look like mushrooms.

Cervical: Cervical fibroids grow in the walls of the cervix and are difficult to remove withoutdamaging the surrounding area.Where can fibroids grow?

Causes of fibroids

Heredity may be a factor.Having a family member with fibroids increases your risk. If a woman’s mother had fibroids, her risk of having them is about three times higher than average.It is thought that a cell muscle in the uterus may be programmed from birth to develop into a fibroid sometime perhaps many years after puberty (the start of menstruation periods. For reasons that are not known, this cell changes into fibroid tumor cell and starts to grow and multiply.After puberty, the ovaries produce more hormones, especially oestrogen. Higher levels of these hormones may also help fibroids to grow.

Ethnic origin:African-American women are more likely to develop fibroids than white women

Obesity:Women who are overweight are at higher risk of having fibroids. For very heavy women,

the risk is two to three times greater than average.

Eating Habits:Eating a lot of red meat (beef) and ham is linked with a higher risk of fibroids. Eatingplenty of green vegetables seems to protect women from developing fibroids.Hormonal imbalance. (affected by estrogen and progesterone levels).

ACHIEVEMENTS 5Age:Fibroids become more common as women age, especially during the 30s and 40s through menopause. After menopause, fibroids usually shrink. - Never had child birth, - Onset of monthly periods prior to age 10 - First had monthly periods after the age of 15.

Causes ctd,Symptoms of fibroidsPressure on other organs:Larger fibroids may press on the organs in the pelvis.Fibroids press on the bladder and a woman may feel the urge to urinate frequently.She may pass only small amounts of urine and may feel as though she has not completely

emptied her bladder. If fibroids press on the bowel, she may feel constipated or full after eating only a small

amount of food.

Ctd,If fibroids press on one or both ureters, they may partially block the flow of urine. A woman may not be aware of this because it often may not be painful. Over time however, this kind of blockage may lead to kidney infection or other seriouskidney damage.

The pressure of larger fibroids on other organs may cause pain in the pelvis.Sometimes, if fibroids do not get the blood flow they need to sustain themselves, theydegenerate or die. This may cause severe pain lasting for days or weeks. Pain may also occur if the stalk of a fibroid twists, cutting off blood supply to the

fibroid.Rarely a fibroid may become infected and cause pain.

Many women learn they have fibroids when their Doctor performs a routine pelvic exam.

A uterus that is enlarged or irregular in shape is a sign that a woman may have fibroids

Fibroids can be prevented, and the earlier the better.Using Cleansing and Nutritional supplements can help prevent fibroids. They cleanse the

learnt from Dynapharm.
