ORIENTATION SESSION OF B.COM (HONS)AND BBA (G) BATCH 2017-2020
It was an immense pleasure for Delhi School of ProfessionalStudies & Research (DSPSR) to conduct an orientationsession on 4th of August 2017, for the students of B.Com
(H) and BBA (G) for the Batch of 2017-2020. The session wasinitiated by Ms. Disha Thanai and the program began withthe lighting of the Lamp by all the dignitaries present incollege, namely, Prof (Dr.) A. K. Singh, President, DSPSR,
Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, Director General, DSPSR, Prof (Dr.)Ravinder Vinayak, Director, DSPSR and Prof (Dr.) G. S. Popli,Executive Director, DSPSR. This was followed by a sessionon meditation which was facilitated by Ms. Mani Goswami.
Subsequent to meditation, all the dignitaries addressedstudents and shared their valuable experiences with them.The students were briefed about various aspects of the Collegesuch as college profile, rules pertaining to attendance andexamination, seminars and conferences, cultural and sportingactivities, Entrepreneurial Developmental Activities and allthe extra-curricular activities in the College.

FRESHER’S PARTY
Fresher’s Party for BBA (G) and B.Com (H) StudentsBatch 2017-20 was organized on 18th September, 2017at Kitty Su, The Lalit, Barakhamba Road. The fight
was a tough one for the prestigious title of Mr. Fresher & Ms.Fresher and the contestants were made to go through threerounds of competitions, i.e; Introduction Round, Talent Round
and Question & Answer Round. The title of Mr. Fresher wasawarded to Vayu of BBA (G) and Ms. Fresher went to Vibhuof B. Com (H).
TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
Teacher’s Day in DSPSR was celebrated not for one,but two consecutive days. On 4th of September, 2017,Prof (Dr.) A. K. Singh, President, DSPSR, Dr. Anil
Kumar Singh, Director General, DSPSR, and Prof (Dr.) G.S. Popli, Executive Director, DSPSR, and the faculty memberswere invited for a programme organized by the Students andCultural Heads, Ms. Simran Kaur and Ms. Mukta Katyal.
The program included dance, skit, poetry and singingperformed by the students. Surprise games were planned forthe teachers with prizes, cake cutting ceremony and a video,with live song on guitar in background, was dedicated to all
On 5th September, 2017, the students played the role ofteachers. Acting as teachers, they got a fair idea of the rolesand responsibilities undertaken by teachers.

INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY AT DSPSR
The Rotaract Club of Delhi School of Professional Studiesand Research celebrated International Literacy Dayon September 8, 2017. The office bearers of the club
motivated all the students of the college to participate in theevent by donating stationery items to be used by the
underprivileged students studying in nearby Governmentschool - Nagar Nigam Prathmik Sah Shiksha Vidyalaya,
living in the nearby JJ colony. In the evening, an event wasorganized in the campus for the kids from nearby JJ Colony.Prof. B. P. Singh, Honorable Chairman, DSPSR and Prof. G.S. Popli, Executive Director, DSPSR graced the event. Prof.B. P. Singh shared with the kids, the importance of educationin achievement of a bright future. He motivated the studentsto set a goal for their career and work hard.

A Workshop on Women Entrepreneurship, “Kickstartyour Success Story”, was attended by Dr. AnupamaLakhera (Associate Professor, DSPSR) and Ms. Pooja
Sharma (Assistant Professor, DSPSR) on 10th September,2017. “Kickstart your Success Story”, was a One DayWorkshop conducted by Ms. Sarita Chauhan, Entrepreneur.The event was held at 91 Springboard, Sector 18,Gurugram, Haryana, 122015. The Workshop focused onenhancing one’s inner potential and leadership skills andigniting the diva within. Through a series of fun activities,games and psychometric tests, every participant was takenon a journey to access and learn about their inherent nature,abilities, potential and skills.
SWACHHATA PAKHWADA
In accordance with the notification issued by Registrar,Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, “SwachhtaPakhwada” was observed at Delhi School of Professional
Studies & Research from 1st to 16th September, 2017. It was
decided to reduce plastic waste in the campus, that scrapmaterial must be disposed off and old records should be weededout and that classrooms, faculty rooms, administrative rooms,corridors, common areas, kitchens, utensils wash areas andtoilets must be given special attention. Slogans related to
“Swachhata Abhiyaan” were displayed in the Institution. Infurther regard to this, our students visited nearby JJ colonyand sensitised local people about the importance of cleanlinessin campus. A special lecture was arranged for students ofDSPSR in order to explain them importance of cleanlinessand later sanitation products were also distributed to them.One plantation drive was also organised in the nearby area.

September, 2017. Thistraining was a learningplatform for the students asthey were given an in depthlecture regarding the field towhich they belong.
RIDE TO END POLIO
On 10th October, 2017, the members of Rotaract Clubof DSPSR went to a “Ride to End Polio” event hostedby Interact Club of Gurukul, the School. It was a
stop-point for Ms. Bhagyashree Sawant and Mr. M. J. Pawanwho are spreading awareness across India regarding Polio by
Sector 26, Rohini, and also by the kids of the slum dwellers

cycling from Jammu & Kashmir to Kanyakumari, which isalmost a distance of 20,000 km. Along with spreadingawareness, this also becomes their official attempt at GuinnessWorld Record.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP AT DSPSR
On 10th October, 2017,a Blood Donationcamp was organised
by Delhi School of ProfessionalStudies and Research in thecollege basement from 10 amto 5 pm in the memory of LateSrimant Madhav Rao Scindiaand under the auspices ofRotaract Club of DSPSR andRotary Blood Bank, Noida.The students volunteered for the same and put their bestefforts to make this event a great success. A proper procedurewas followed for checking the eligibility of a person to donateblood and a total of 141 units was received.

FUND RAISING BY SELLING DIYAS ANDCANDLES AT DIWALI CELEBRATION
Rotaract Club of DSPSR organised a fund raising eventon 17th October 2017. This event resulted in acollection of a profit of Rs. 650 which would be added
to the fund of Rotaract Club of DSPSR and would definitelybe ued for a good cause in the future.
DONATION OF EDUCATIONALNECCESSITIES AS DIWALI GIFTS
The Rotaract Club ofDSPSR donatededucational necessi-
ties to the students of nearbyJJ Colony on the occasion ofDiwali Celebration. Thesegifts were distributed by theChief Guest for the event,Prof. Anu Singh Lather, ProVice Chancellor, DelhiTechnological University,Delhi, to the under priviledged students which brought a smileon their faces, a real Diwali celebration.
JOINT ACTIVITY BY ROTARACT CLUB OFDELHI AKASH AND ROTARACT CLUB OFDSPSR
A joint activity was organised by the Rotaract Club ofDelhi Akash and Rotaract Club of DSPSR forspreading awareness about the importance of washing
hands. This was done to make them aware about health andhygiene.
FUND RAISING PROJECT
A fund raising project was organised by the RotaractClub of DSPSR for 10 days which included the scrapcollection by the students of DSPSR. 50 percent of this
fund will be used for the purchase of necessities for theunderprivileged children. This project had a lot of contributionfrom the college library.
GUEST LECTURE ON FINANCIAL MANAGE-MENT
A guest lecture was conducted for the students of B.Com(H) and BBA on 20th Sept, 2017, in the premises ofDelhi School of Professional Studies & Research. Ms.
Dimple, from American Academy of Financial Management,delivered the lecture highlighting the career opportunities inthe area of Finance. She discussed about various short-termcertificate courses in the area of finance which enhanced theknowledge and skills of students in this field.
WORKSHOP ON “HOW TO CRACK EXAM FORGOVERNMENT JOBS”
A workshop was conducted by Mr. Amit, GeneralManager (Sales) at Time Education on “Tips to crackGovernment Exams” on September 21st, 2017 for the
students of BBA (G) and B.Com (Hons). The students wereacquainted about the various tips required for crackingexaminations for the government jobs with specific referenceto the jobs in banking sector.
INSIGHTS ON CHOOSING THE RIGHT B-SCHOOL
Dr. Tavleen Kaur, Faculty at IBS, Gurgaon, was calledon to deliver a lecture on the Career Seminar held onSeptember 21st, 2017, on the topic “Insights on
Choosing the Right B-School”. She shared her knowledge anddiscussed many important parameters that a student shouldkeep in his/ her mind while selecting a B-School for PostGraduation in Management.
INVESTMENT AWARENESS
To generate awareness about investment and variousoptions in investment, a workshop on “InvestmentAwareness” was organized on October 6th, 2017 for the
students of B. Com. (H) 2nd year. Dr. Mukul Jain, certifiedtrainer of SEBI, and a Consultant, convened the workshop. Hetalked about the role of SEBI for protecting the interest ofinvestors. His focus was to inculcate the habit of saving moneyand investments in right options.
STRESS MANAGEMENT SESSION AT DSPSR
Dr. Rana Singh, Director- Institutional Effectiveness(Quality Assurance), University of Jazeera, Dubai,delivered a lecture to the students of BBA 3rd Semester
on “Stress Management” on August 30th, 2017. He talkedabout reasons for stress in day to day life. He explained thestudent’s about techniques such as to be positive, taking longbreathe, relaxing, meditating, going outside, taking thingseasy and keeping calm in life to avoid and beat stress in theirdaily life. He further guided students about healthy eatinghabits that help in reducing stress. It was an informativeand fruitful session for the students as they learnt to cope upstress in their daily life.
