In Latin America and the Caribbean at the level of grass root seniors’, retirees’

and pensioners’ organizations, “Central Latinoamericano y del Caribe de

Trabajadores Jubilados, Pensionados y Adultos Mayores”

(CLATJUPAM the former CLATJUP)” was established 25 years ago in July 1989.

Since 2007 attention for the implementation of the Madrid International Action Plan on Aging

its main objective : realization of all human rights for older persons by 2012.

Cooperation between national federations of retirees, pensioners and older persons

to raise the Awareness on dementia, especially in those Caribbean countries where there is not yet an Alzheimer organization established affiliated to Alzheimer Disease international.
