Since the internet revolution and the mobile internet revolution, however, financial technology has

grown explosively, and FinTech, which originally referred to computer technology applied to the back

office of banks or trading firms, now describes a broad variety of technological interventions into

personal and commercial finance. With more and more investment pouring into blockchain startup,

the demand for talents in blockchain technology has been rising.

New technologies, like machine learning/artificial intelligence, predictive behavioral analytics and

data-driven marketing, will take the guesswork and habit out of financial decisions. Technological

innovation in the financial sector, including innovations in financial literacy and education, retail

banking, investment and even crypto-currencies like bitcoin are also driven an unprecedented

transformation of finance around the world.

The Diploma in FinTech and Blockchain Technologies and Applications will review and explore major

These programmes combine technical and non-technical content. Participants can make enrolments to the individual workshop based on their background.

Participants are welcome to make enrolments to individual workshop to acquire the knowledge and certificate.

Participants who complete a total 60 learning hours (any 5 workshops), with 75% attendance and pass the assessment will be eligible for the Diploma certificate. Participant shall provide the following: 1. Certificate Holder in related areas; or 2. 5 grade E in HKCEE or equivalent; or 3. 5 passes at Level 2 in HKCEE or equivalent; or 4. 5 HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or equivalent; or 5. mature student (i)

Introduction How does the blockchain technology disrupt the financial payment landscape? Will Crypto-currency replace the paper-backed currency such as US Dollar or Renminbi? Financial startups leveraging the power of the blockchain technology have successfully redefined the global currency market. Technically, the blockchain is an ingenious new way of storing data and verifying its integrity. Through the use of a variety of cryptography-based technologies, once an entry is added into a blockchain database, it cannot be changed. This distributed ledger technology could be used to make money transfer more reliable and more secure. The idea of applying blockchain technology outside of the realm of Bitcoin has gained a lot of interest from forward-thinking companies in the past year. The technology is spreading across vertical industries such as retails, logistics and asset management. In this course, we will l explore the details of blockchain technology and its application, implementation and security concerns.
