Location change

• New locations: ‘Westfield Shopping Centre’ - Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College – playground.

• We are no longer filming at Trafalgar Square as we found that it represents tourism rather than socialising.

• We are no longer filming at ‘Ealing Broadway park’.

• We will continue to film at the BBC studio as it represents the media landscape well.

Why we chose this location

• As ‘Westfield Shopping Centre’ is very popular amongst teenagers and young adults (our target audience) they will recognise it and therefore be able to relate.

• It is also a place where many people go to socialise which relates to our topic.

• We have also decided to film at our school as there are many teenagers thus we can interview them for our topic.

RISK ASSESSMENT & HEALTH AND SAFTEY

TASKS: POSSIBLE RISK INVOLVED IN TASKS: ACTIONS TO PREVENT HARM TO HEALTH OR SAFETY:

Filming in buildings – ‘Westfield’. ‘Westfield Shopping Centre’ is a private place and could be off limits.

Always check to make sure it is always accessible.

Filming underage (below 16) people ‘Westfield’ is an open area, so anyone could get caught in the shot.

Avoid filming younger people.

Filming anyone while in Westfield or School.

This causes legal problems as people have to be asked if they can be filmed.

Always get permission to film anyone.

Health of group members when filming(ex in cold weather, filming for extended

hours etc)

Cold weather could lead to people getting sick and extended hours could lead to walking home

in the dark which is dangerous.

Ensure that all group members are well at all times and manage the time of filming as to not extend to dark

hours.

Travelling to locations:Bus – Westfield and BBC Studio

Could get lost if going to ‘Living Space’ internet café as we have never been before.

Always carry a map when travelling to new areas.

Types of areas (how safe are they) Trafalgar Square is filled with all different types of people.

Keep equipment close at all times.

Time of day Places like ‘Westfield’ and public Schools, close at certain times so we might be asked to leave if

we exceed this time.

Make sure all filming is not left for one day so that it doesn’t extend available

time at location.
