I am moving the church in Uganda from Corinth to Ephesus.

My people must grow up to maturity;

I would like to raise the church to the Father stage.

I have never stopped my people from aspiring for greatness, I only demand that they aspire for it knowing the method of the Kingdom of God

Background of the church at Corinth

Abiding with Aquila and Priscilla, fellow tentmakers; reasoning in the synagogue every Sabbath (Acts 18: 1-6)

In the house of Justus, abiding there and teaching there and teaching for a year and six months (Acts 18:7-11)

An incident before Gallio, proconsul of Achia (Acts 18:12-18)

Positive things about Corinth They participated actively in church. Brand New Believers. Their faith was relevant to their world. They were a real church

1 Corinthians 1:2 (NKJV)

V2  To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours

Negative things about Corinth

They had divisions and factions in the Church.

They had Communion issues (Drunkenness)

They could not solve conflict. Taking personal problems to heathen courts (1Cor 6)

Worship was disorderly.

Negative things about Corinth Shopping in the wrong butcher

shops. Sexual immorality. False apostles and self

promoters

EPHESUS

Ephesus Paul’s letter to Ephesus carries

more revelation than any other letters

He doesn’t correct any mistakes Paul speaks of 3 main things;

- SEAT - WALK - STAND

Our Elevated position in Christ: Seated in heavenly places

How we ought to walk in light of our position

Standing in the face of spiritual conflict

Ephesus The major difference between the 2

churches seems to have been the level of SPIRITUAL INSTRUCTION that they received.

Way Forward The church has to refocus on teaching

sound doctrine and discipleship The church has to get involved in MEDIA

(especially radio)
