THE FACTS

BACKGROUND INTEL• Over 2.5 million service personnel have been deployed to the war

zone in Iraq and Afghanistan; many with multiple deployments.• TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) has been estimated in nearly 20% of the

nearly 2.5 million returning Veterans returning from Iraq & Afghanistan, and an estimated 30% have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

OUR COMMITMENT• RLF actively partners with other established 501 (c)(3) organizations

to coordinate programs and resources such as providing job training and career opportunities to TBI Veterans following their treatment, and during their ongoing recovery.

RESURRECT A HERO –99% SOLUTION

All VOLUNTARY military - 1% of the population, mainly from rural areas with limited access to healthcare and employment resources.

Civilian world - 99% of the resources – abundant opportunities, but there is a disconnect and a lack of coordinated military separation plan.

RLF - An organizing force for collaboration between our military, and Department of Defense (DOD), Veterans Administration (VA), as well as the civilian world to promote healthcare, employment, and education for America’s returning heroes.

CAUSES OF HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT

• When Vets return home to rural areas without necessary/adequate resources

• Economy in general – Lack of SERVICE jobs

• Lack of “standard” education requirements

• Military experience does NOT translate well into the civilian job market

• Misperceptions about the wounds of war –

– PTSD – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

– TBI – Traumatic Brain Injury
