WelcomeDoric is proud of our various associations in motorsport, with the 2012 season marking Doric’s ninth straight year of delivering money can’t buy experiences for our staff and valued clients.

This year sees our Doric Racing family remain intact from 2011, with our main involvement being our support of stand-out V8 Supercar squad, Ford Performance Racing. Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom are two of the brightest shining stars in Australian motorsport, and we are sure that they will once again fly the Doric flag proudly.

FPR is a team on the rise, and we hope to receive some fantastic coverage with our logo placed in front of the team’s in-car cameras, as well as on the team uniforms and on Will’s helmet.

James Moffat is a star in the making, his performances in his first full season last year for Dick Johnson Racing were outstanding.

James is a star in the making, and has the right team behind him to get the job done. His number 18 machine is the very car that James Courtney drove to the championship victory in 2010, so keep an eye on our young charge as the season progresses.

Speaking of legends, John Bowe is back for more in 2012 with his awesome Mustang in the Touring Car Masters. JB has won everything there is to win in Australian motorsport, and just keeps on keeping on. Last year he managed to add the TCM title to his long list of career achievements, and he will be looking to repeat the performance this year.

Last but not least is Team Motologic in the Australian Superbike Championships. The team stays the same as last year- Jamie Stauffer and Wayne Maxwell on Hondas, with the combination proving successful in 2011.

Under the leadership of Superbike guru Paul Free, Wayne and Jamie will be two to watch as the season goes on.

Motorsport is competitive, exciting, passionate & innovative, we at Doric stand for all those values, and as the slogan says, Doric are the Innovators.

Enjoy your new look Racer magazine, and your day at the races.

I look forward to speaking with you and moving forward in business together.

Will Davison is proving to be the driver to beat in this year’s race for the V8 Supercar title. The Doric racer leads the Championship after he recorded wins in

the first two race weekends of the year, at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and at Symmons Plains in Tasmania. In fact Davison’s form has been so good, he has made it onto the podium in every Championship race this year. “I entered 2012 confident with the knowledge that we can win races and have a real crack at the title. Especially after our strong pace at the end of last year’s season,” Will Davison said. “It was fantastic to get wins so early on in the season, in both Adelaide and Tasmania, and to be able to prove to everyone that we will be a strong title chance this year. “After the great start we have had, we now just need to stay calm and stay true to what we are doing for the rest of the season.” However, Davison knows this weekend’s event in Hamilton will be a challenge, especially with defending Champion Jamie Whincup closing the gap, in the race for the title. With two race weekends completed, Davison is 18 points ahead of the second placed Whincup. “Jamie has always been a fierce competitor. But if I continue my good form this weekend, I know I’ll go a long way in my bid to claim my first ever V8 Supercars Championship,” a determined Davison said. “However, the last round in Tasmania showed we still have a few things to work on, and I intend to get them right in time for New Zealand.” Davison hasn’t won a race at the Hamilton street circuit in the event’s history. However, after a great start to the season, he is keen to get on the podium this weekend. “I love racing in New Zealand. It’s a great track, and I always love competing on street circuits. I am definitely determined to win my first ever race here, and keep our season moving in the right direction,” Davison said. “It’s such a great atmosphere during the event, and I am sure there will be another great turn out.”

James Moffat’s 2012 Championship campaign hasn’t started as he would have hoped. The Doric racer’s best result this year has been 12th, at the non-championship Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

Moffat currently sits 22nd on the Championship table. However, his team has been working hard to get more speedoutofhiscar,andMoffatisconfidenthewillstillbeabletobreakintothetop10thisyear. “This year obviously hasn’t gone to plan so far, as we would have liked,” James Moffat said. “However, the team has been working really hard and I feel like I’m just starting to get more out of the car heading into Hamilton.” Moffat will be looking for more speed in Hamilton, as he tries to repeat last year’s performance at the street circuit, whereherecordedhisfirsttoptenfinish. “I can’t wait to get back on the track at Hamilton, and I am really looking forward to the challenge again. I like the conditions and atmosphere, and I am sure that will help push me along,” Moffat said.

PS... Frosty wins as well!It has been a solid start to the season for Doric racer Mark Winterbottom,

who is currently in third position on the Championship table.

Winterbottom dominated the non-championship Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, in Melbourne. He won three out of the four races, to win the weekend overall. Winterbottom followed up his Albert Park victory with an impressive weekend at Symmons Plains in Tasmania, where he finished on the podium in race one, in second position. “I had a really good weekend in Melbourne, and if we can replicate that every weekend we will go far this year,” Mark Winterbottom said. “It was also great to get on the podium at Symmons Plains and at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, where I finished in second position in race one.” “I have one of the quickest cars on the track, and I just need to take advantage of that for the rest of the season. I need to start recording Championship race victories to make sure I am in the title hunt.” Winterbottom has made it onto the podium only once in Hamilton. He is determined to go better this weekend, and push for a race win. “Hamilton is a place I like coming back to, because the racing is fast and the crowds are great,” Winterbottom said. “I am extremely keen to get a Championship race win on the board, and close the gap between myself, Holden’s Jamie Whincup and teammate Will Davison.”

JB Starts 2012 with a win at Clipsal

John Bowe has got off to the perfect start this season as he aims to defend his 2011 Touring Car Masters title.

Bowe dominated the opening round of the Series at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, where he won two out of the three races. “When you win the round it’s a good thing to achieve. The car has always been good here, it suits the circuit,” John Bowe said. “The only hiccup in Adelaide was that we sustained damage to the bonnet. We were really surprised when we had a supporter lend me the bonnet of his ’69 Mustang from his road car, which is just amazing to have that support.” Bowe’s car which is nicknamed ‘Mustang Sally’ had a makeover before the first event of the season in Adelaide. Every part of ‘Sally’ was dismantled and rebuilt, she was also given a new and improved engine. “Sally went really well in the opening race of the season. She is running as smooth as ever,” Bowe said. The next event on the Touring Car Masters calendar is at Phillip Island in May, where Bowe is keen to keep his early season success going. “This series just keeps getting better with all the cars and drivers lifting their game. The competition is definitely getting tighter and each race is becoming more of a workout! “I haven’t raced Sally at Phillip Island in a long time, so I’m keen to see how she goes here.” Off the track and Bowe has been busy visiting family in America and attending the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

Solid Start for Honda Racing Duo

Doric riders Wayne Maxwell and Jamie Stauffer have made a good start to their 2012 Australian Superbike Championship campaigns.

At the opening event of the season at Phillip Island, Maxwell won his first race of the year. Teammate Stauffer also managed a podium finish in race two, where he finished third. “What an opening weekend at Phillip Island! After I didn’t finish race one because of a radiator leak, it was nice to bounce back in race two and take the chequered flag,” Wayne Maxwell said. “It was definitely good in the opening round to signal my intentions to the other riders, with a race win. I am desperate to win the championship!” “It was really good to finish round one with a positive result. I was fast in practice and qualifying and although I’m never happy unless I’m winning races, to be third in the championship at this point is fine,” Jamie Stauffer said. Maxwell and Stauffer head to Hidden Valley in Darwin this weekend for round two of the Championship. It is a fast, 2.9 kilometre circuit with a long front straight and plenty of passing opportunities for riders around the twisty back section. The Doric riders are keen to back up their impressive performances at Phillip Island this weekend, and close the gap on current Championship leader Josh Waters. “I always like racing in Darwin, and I can’t wait to get started this weekend,” Maxwell said. “I am very keen to win back to back races and I am confident I’ll be able to close in on the Championship leader.” “I know I can win my first championship race at Hidden Valley this weekend. It’s a circuit I like racing at, and I am sure I will do well here,” Stauffer said.

won four races on this track, which is more than any other driver. Whincup will almost certainly feature on the podium again this weekend.

Local hope Shane Van Gisbergen will be another driver to watch. The New Zealander won race two last year and sent the crowd into a frenzy. He will be hoping to win back to back races in front of his home fans.

Sadly for fans and drivers, this will be the last V8 Supercars event in Hamilton. It will head to a different location next year.

Hamilton is a genuine street circuit in the middle of the city’s business district.Itisfastandfreeflowing, andshould provide some excellent racing conditions, with plenty of passing opportunities for drivers. Doric Racer Will Davison has never recordedapodiumfinishinHamilton. However, if his impressive form continues, which he displayed with race wins in Adelaide and Tasmania, he will be hard to beat. Mark Winterbottom is also one of the front runners for the event. His speed

on the street circuit at Albert Park in Melbourne proved he is going to be a title contender this year, and should have some good speed in Hamilton.

Last year James Moffat scored his firstevertoptenV8Supercarfinishin Hamilton, where he came in ninth. Moffat will be edging towards another top10finishthisweekendandwillbe keen to improve his championship ranking.

Holden’s Jamie Whincup has dominated the Hamilton street circuit in the event’s short history. He has
