Our research shows, that the market growth for gTLDs continued to followan upward trend in 2014 and 2015. The first quarter of 2015 closed with a baseof 294 million domain name registrations across all toplevel domains (TLDs).Registrations have grown by 6.5 percent, year over year.

The .com and .net TLDs experienced aggregate growth, reaching acombined total of approximately 133 million domain names in the first quarterof 2015. Over 8.7 million new .com and .net domain names have been registeredin the first quarter of 2015.

Total ccTLD registrations were approximately 132.1 million in the thirdquarter of 2014. This is an increase of approximately 12.8 million domainnames, or 10.7 percent from a year ago.
