Bootup to a�rOS When power�ng on, the Power, MIMO, LINK, and S�gnal 1-4 LEDsl�ght on. Once the CPU code takes over, the MIMO, LINK, and S�gnal 1-3 LEDs turn off.S�gnal 4 LED rema�ns l�t to �nd�cate the boot sequence �s underway.
In�t�al�z�ng a�rF�ber Software When the a�rF�ber appl�cat�on beg�ns to boot undera�rOS®, the S�gnal 4 LED goes from sol�dly on to a 2.5 Hz �ash. Th�s cont�nues unt�lthe AF‐11FX �s fully booted.
S�gnal Level Once fully booted, the S�gnal 1-4 LEDs act as a bar graph show�ng howclose the AF‐11FX �s to �deal a�m�ng. Th�s �s auto-scaled based on the l�nk range, theantenna ga�ns, and the conf�gured TX power of the remote AF‐11FX. Each S�gnalLED has three poss�ble states: On, Flash�ng, and Off. All S�gnal LEDs would be sol�dlyon �n an �deal l�nk. For example, �f the l�nk has a 1 dB loss, the S�gnal 4 LED w�ll �ash;a 2 dB loss and the S�gnal 4 LED w�ll turn off. The full bar graph LED states are shownbelow.

Installat�on Overv�ew
We recommend that you conf�gure your pa�red AF-11 rad�os before s�te �nstallat�on. Theoverv�ew below summar�zes the �nstallat�on procedure, and the subsequent sect�onsprov�de deta�led �nstallat�on �nformat�on.
Install the Duplexer(s) �n the AF-11 rad�o.
Connect the a�rF�ber G�gab�t PoE adapter to the DATA port, and connect yourcomputer to the MGMT port.
Conf�gure the AF-11.
Install a ground w�re and mount the AF-11 on the a�rF�ber AF-11G35 antenna (or acompat�ble antenna).
At the �nstallat�on s�te, �nstall the antenna w�th the mounted AF-11 rad�o (see theantenna’s Qu�ck Start Gu�de for �nstallat�on �nstruct�ons).
Connect the DATA port to your LAN, and connect power (PoE or DC power) to theAF-11.
Establ�sh and opt�m�ze the RF l�nk.

2. Conf�gure the Ethernet adapter on your computer w�th a stat�c IP address on the192.168.1.x subnet.
3. Launch your web browser. Type https://192.168.1.20 �n the address f�eld and pressenter (PC) or return (Mac).
4. The log�n screen w�ll appear. Enter ubnt �n the Username and Password f�elds.Select your Country and Language. You must agree to the Terms of Use to use theproduct. Cl�ck Log�n.
5. Cl�ck Sett�ngs, and then cl�ck the W�reless tab.
6. Conf�gure the Bas�c W�reless Sett�ngs:
a. For one AF-11, select Master as the W�reless Mode. For the other AF-11, keepthe default, Slave.
b. Enter a name �n the L�nk Name f�eld. Th�s should be the same on both theMaster and the Slave.

c. If needed, change the Channel Bandw�dth, Output Power and/or Max�mumModulat�on Rate sett�ngs.
7. Conf�gure the TX Frequency and RX Frequency.
8. Conf�gure the W�reless Secur�ty:
a. Select the Key Type, HEX or ASCII.
b. For the Key f�eld:
HEX Enter 16 bytes (e�ght, 16-b�t hexadec�mal d�g�ts: 0-9, A-F, or a-f ). Youcan om�t zeroes and use colons, s�m�lar to the IPv6 format.
ASCII Enter a comb�nat�on of alphanumer�c characters (0-9, A-Z, or a-z).
9. Cl�ck Save Changes.
10. In-Band Management �s enabled by default, so each a�rF�ber rad�o must have aun�que IP Address. (If the a�rF�ber rad�os use the same IP Address, you may loseaccess to the a�rF�ber rad�os v�a the DATA ports.) Cl�ck the Network tab.
a. For the Management IP Address opt�on:
DHCP Keep the default, DHCP, to use DHCP reservat�on on your router toass�gn a un�que IP Address.
Stat�c Change the IP Address, Netmask, and other sett�ngs to make themcompat�ble w�th your network.
b. Cl�ck Save Changes.
11. D�sconnect the Ethernet cables from the MGMT and DATA ports on the AF-11.Conf�gurat�on of the AF-11 rad�o �s complete.
Repeat the �nstruct�ons �n the a�rF�ber Conf�gurat�on sect�on on the other AF-11 rad�o.

1. Connect a DC power cable to the Term�nal Block. (The +VDC and GND can beconnected to e�ther term�nal.)
2. Connect the other end of the DC power cable to a DC power supply that suppl�es+50VDC.
WARNING: Apply�ng a negat�ve voltage such as -48VDC w�ll damage therad�o.
3. Connect the DC power supply to �ts source.
Surge Protect�on
For added protect�on, �nstall two surge suppressors, such as the Ub�qu�t� EthernetSurge Protector, model ETH-SP-G2, at the end of each l�nk. Install the f�rst surgeprotector w�th�n one meter of the a�rF�ber DATA port, and �nstall the second surgeprotector at the �ngress po�nt of the locat�on hous�ng the w�red network equ�pment.

T�ps
To accurately al�gn the a�rF�ber rad�os for best performance, you MUST al�gn onlyone end of the l�nk at a t�me.
You may need to use add�t�onal hardware to compensate for �ssues such as the�mproper or�entat�on of a mount�ng pole or s�gn�f�cant elevat�on d�fferencesbetween a�rF�ber rad�os.
Establ�sh�ng a L�nk
Adjust the pos�t�ons of the Master and the Slave to establ�sh a l�nk. The follow�ngsect�on features the a�rF�ber X antenna, AF-11G35:
Note: The Master must be a�med f�rst at the Slave because the Slave does nottransm�t any RF s�gnal unt�l �t detects transm�ss�ons from the Master.
1. Master V�sually a�m the Master at the Slave. To adjust the Master’s pos�t�on, adjustthe az�muth and the elevat�on.

Adjust the az�muth:
a. Loosen the four �ange nuts on the two pole clamps.
b. Rotate the antenna to po�nt towards the other end of the l�nk.
c. T�ghten the four �ange nuts on the two pole clamps.
Adjust the elevat�on angle:
a. Loosen the e�ght hex head bolts to so that the washers can sp�n freely by hand.
b. T�ghten or loosen the Elevat�on Adjustment Bolt to set the des�red t�lt.
c. T�ghten the e�ght hex head bolts.

3. Check to see �f a l�nk �s establ�shed. Ensure that the LINK LED �s sol�dly l�t green andthe S�gnal LEDs of the Slave are d�splay�ng s�gnal levels.
4. Slave A�m the Slave at the Master to ach�eve the strongest s�gnal level on the Master.
Note: Refer to the S�gnal LEDs sect�on for deta�ls on the s�gnal values.
Note: Max�mum s�gnal strength can best be ach�eved by �terat�velysweep�ng through both az�muth and elevat�on.
5. Master A�m the Master at the Slave to ach�eve the strongest s�gnal level on the Slave.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 unt�l you ach�eve an opt�mal l�nk, w�th all four S�gnal LEDssol�dly l�t. Th�s ensures the best poss�ble data rate between the a�rF�ber rad�os.
7. Lock the al�gnment on both a�rF�ber antennas by t�ghten�ng all the nuts and bolts.
8. Observe the S�gnal LEDs of each a�rF�ber rad�o to ensure that the values rema�nconstant wh�le t�ghten�ng the nuts and bolts. If any LED value changes dur�ng thelock�ng process, loosen the nuts and bolts, f�nal�ze the al�gnment of each a�rF�berantenna aga�n, and ret�ghten the nuts and bolts.
