Have to been to Hong Kong before? And what are your impressions of the city? Yes, this is the first time I am here and HK is a very busy and energetic city.

How popular is Tattoo Haircut in Japan? Tattoo haircut is common in trendy youth, people who enjoy Rock’N Roll music and B-boys. Besides, many people nowadays (especially males) are doing perm and undercut, some of them will subtly do the Tattoo Haircut too.

Where do you get your design inspirations from?By traveling to countryside, looking at the soil and water, feeling the mystic of nature, inspire me a lot.

Do you see any difference between Asian philosophy and the west in their approach to hair?Asian people are more conservative, they can only accept “in-line” Tattoo Haircut, whereas the westerns are more open and they can do the “out-line” Tattoo Haircut.

What tips can you give to up and coming hairstylists?Open your eyes, look into details and always get yourself (and your tools) prepared.

The fall season is going to bring a never before seen variety of hairstyles for men: Tousled out-of-bed styles co-exist with well-organized hair. Hairstyle designers play with masculine and feminine elements this season.

Tip The mop tops of the Fab Four are back in fashion. As a slight variation from the 1960s, the style is now more structured but less structured.

Salon reception and waiting area design concepts

receptiondesign

1. The reception area is an essential part of a salon since this is the very first thing that customers will notice after they enter it. It ought to be comfortable and have a warm and welcome feel to it.

2. The client’s comfort and well-being must be at the forefront throughout the design process. At every stage, from the moment they enter the reception area, through the wash area, to the colouring & styling.

3. It is important to ensure the client will feel relaxed, pampered and valued. If clients feel comfortable and peaceful at a reception area even though they know they might have to wait until their turn, it means the reception area has worked in terms of ambiance.

4. A beauty salon isn’t just another casual place for people to visit and get their desired treatments done. It’s a place, which is a central hub for community news, happenings around the city or (world), the biggest home for ladies gossips and unexpected odd confessions. Therefore it has to be unique and has to carry its own fashion statement more than fulfilling a necessity.

5. The reception is the initial contact point with the external world and so it is in a very powerful place to improve the way the company is perceived.
