Economic Participation for People with Disability grant round

What is this grant round

It is an open grant round for a range of groups including employers employment agencies organisations that work

with people with disability and training providers Up to $199 million (GST incl) is available to fund projects up to

one year This grant round seeks innovative proposals that build the capacity of people with disability to participate

in work while also supporting employers to create opportunities for people with disability




The goal of this funding is to build employer demand through things such as localised community

awareness resources and training

It also assists employers to build their capacity to create employment opportunities for people with disability

ACCESS GUIDE FOR THE ADELAIDE FRINGE




This year the Adelaide Fringe has introduced a number of new access initiatives to ensure people of all abilities

can experience the magic of the festival and its program

These include

- Creating an Access Guide in February which will list recommended events from accessibility partners Deaf

CanDo and Royal Society for the Blind (RSB)

- Introducing 20 Access Champion volunteers who will be stationed at certain events to support patrons with

access requirements This may be navigating accessible entry points to venues chaperoning them to seats

liaising with access service providers (Auslan interpreters and audio describers) and promoting the Access Guide

They can be identified with a white badge marked ldquoAccess Championrdquo Patrons can also request an Access

Champion when booking via the Accessibility Booking Line

COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Provides scholarship recipients with a qualification in Certificate III in Individual Support

in either Home and Community Aged Care Disability or a combination of twothree certificates

The scholarships are open to individuals who have lived in country South Australia for at least three years Country

residents who work part-time for Country Health SA

The main objective of the program is to support the development of services in the areas of unmet needs The

program will contribute to the achievement of a vibrant market for disability services and allow people with disability

to exercise choice and control over the services they receive and when and where they receive those services

PRICE GUIDE FOR NDIS PROVIDERS ndash as of 1 February 2019

The price guide effective 1 February 2019 is now in place It is designed to




help providers move to the market based environment of the NDIS

provide incentives for providers to develop new and innovative services and products

improve choice for participants

The major change to the price guide effective 1 February 2019 is the introduction of new price controls for

providers delivering assistance with self-care activities (one-to-one) and assistance to access community social

and recreational activities (one-to-one)

UPDATED PARTICIPANTS PLAN

The NDIA has launched a new-look participant plan that will benefit both participants and providers with

clearer definitions of the participantrsquos NDIS funded supports

clarity on how these supports contribute to achieving the participants goals

a clearer picture of all the supports in the plan including those provided by other government services

community and informal sources

GRANTS amp FUNDING




The Marshall Liberal Government is encouraging rural and regional communities from across the state to apply for

a share of $1 million to improve the health and wellbeing of their communities

The second round of the SA Healthy Towns Challenge launches today and the Minister for Health and Wellbeing

Stephen Wade said grants of up to $50000 each are on offer to regional towns to develop preventative health

programs within their community

Examples of possible projects include

bull Establishing a farmersrsquo market or community produce swap meet to increase access to affordable and healthy

food

bull Conducting screening for type 2 diabetes risk or skin cancer at Field Days

bull Replacing or upgrading community-based sport or playground equipment

bull Training volunteers at sport clubs in responsible service of alcohol and providing healthier food options in

canteens and for functions

bull Providing suicide prevention programs through qualified agencies

Professor Paddy Phillips SA Health Chief Medical Officer and Public Health Officer said the focus of the grants

will be on initiatives that have measurable results and benefits to the community

Applications will close on Monday 15 April 2019 and successful projects will run from July 2019 to June 2020

Projects must be in partnership with a non-government organisation or university to help communities develop

projects based on evidence and best practice

Economic Participation for People with Disability grant round

What is this grant round

It is an open grant round for a range of groups including employers employment agencies organisations that work

with people with disability and training providers Up to $199 million (GST incl) is available to fund projects up to

one year This grant round seeks innovative proposals that build the capacity of people with disability to participate

in work while also supporting employers to create opportunities for people with disability
