• DIGITUM's institutional repository built to save, share, and search Murcia University's digital research materials.
• Including an increasing number of conference papers, images, peer-reviewed scholarly articles, preprints, technical reports, theses, working papers, and more.
• It’s a project of the University Library, ATICA and University Publishing Service.

2. DIGITUM – ¿What are its objectives?
• The objective of DIGITUM is to allow free access to scientific and academic production
• Increase visibility of its contents • Guarantee digital files preservation
• It meets scientifica and academic production in digital support (DSpace) by the application of international standards (OAI/PMH, etc.)
• Also European, as OpenAIRE and ESE (Europeana Semantic Elements).
• Guarantee the digital preservation at a medium-long term through PREMIS standard (migration).

– Any anonimous user with Internet connection– Items deposit made by libraries and newspapers
libraries staff – Research and teaching staff introduce
scientific and academic work through “self-file” (autoarchivo), or using the bridge in PAGINA application, operating from June 2011.
4. DIGITUM – ¿Who is the target group?
• Including a scientific paper in the institutional repository broaden authors profile at an international level
• Impact increase of research. There are analysis showing that articles kept in institutional repositories are more cited.
• Obtaining statistical data about the use of documents (acces origin, visits and downloads etc.)
• Permanent URLs for the author’s documents, always accessible in thar url.

• Web dissemination of contents and integration with data collectors
• Contents interoperability• Self-file• Archivo Delegado service, allowing the
submission, in a very simple way, of an article to DIGITUM file service, and library staff is in charge of uploading it in the repository
• Bridge PAGINA/DIGITUM – PAGINA is a tool for researchers which allow them to
deposit its scientific production, CV etc.

11. DIGITUM – Rights
11.1 Author’s Rights – DIGITUM Licence .
- Licence compulsory to be accepted in order to publish in DIGITUM.
– Declaration that work is original and does not break other author rights.
– Author declares he/she is owner of his/her work.– Guarantees UMU the right, non-exclusive, to
distribute the work.
11.2. Author’s Rights - DIGITUM Licence.
– Licences joined to OAI movement (Open Archives Initiative).
– Allow authors to freely deposit their work in Internet, limiting its use, protecting this way their works from improper use.
– 4 main conditions combine in 6 types of licences.
