ePortfolios: Create a Portfolio
Digital
1. Log in to your Davis Digital account and locate the Portfolios section.
2. At the top right of the panel, click Create to begin a new ePortfolio.

3. Choose an Example template or Blank template to get started. This guide will use
a blank template.
Click Next to go on to the next step.
4. Enter the title of your new ePortfolio.

5. Check the box to have your ePortfolio appear in your school district’s directory.
The Directory includes only portfolios from your school district.
6. Permissions allow you to decide who can view, edit, or administer your portfolio.
Public Can View means that your portfolio can be accessed by anyone on the Internet,
including students, parents, and relatives.
People At My School Can View includes only teachers, students, and administrators
from your school district with Davis Digital accounts.
7. You can easily change the Permission settings at any time by clicking Edit.
8. Use the drop-down menus to make changes.

You can collaborate with other Davis Digital users from your school by adding them
as Viewers, Editors, Publishers, or Administrators. For detailed instructions, see the
ePortfolios: Add People guide.
9. Choose the level of access for the Public (anyone with an internet connection) or People
At My School (teachers or students from your school district) by choosing No Access or
Can View from the drop-down menus.
10. Click Submit to finalize your changes.
11. Click Next to begin customizing your ePortfolio.

12. The Directory Icon is a thumbnail image that appears with
your portfolio title on your home page and in the Directory.
Click Edit to choose an image for your portfolio’s Directory Icon.
13. Select Upload New Image.
14. Choose the file you’d like to upload and click Open.

15. You may now edit the image as needed to create your Directory Icon.
Use the sliders at the right of the image editor to zoom in on or rotate your image.
16. Use the blue dotted rectangle to select which part of the image will show in the
Directory Icon Thumbnail image.
17. When you are finished editing your image, click Save.

18. Next, choose and edit the header image for your portfolio. The banner or header
image always appears at the top of your portfolio. Click Edit to get started.
19. Select and Upload an image for your ePortfolio Header (see Steps 13 and 14).
21. You can add a title or brief statement to your ePortfolio Header with the text box.
Leave the text box blank for an image-only header.
20. Zoom or rotate your image using the sliders (see Step 15.)
Select the appropriate portion of the image using the blue rectangle (see Step 16).

22. Choose Left, Center, or Right orientation for your title. Then click Save.
23. You can add footer text that will appear at the bottom of your portfolio. You might include
a quote, email address, or a link to your school district’s website. Click Edit to add text.
24. Enter your footer text and click Save.
25. Click Save to save your ePortfolio settings.
26. Now you can begin adding text, images, videos, or other content to your new ePortfolio.
