EDI FlexAir™ Fine Bubble T-Series Diffuser Unit

The FlexAir T-Series diffuser unit is a fine pore, flexible membrane diffusercapable of providing a high level of oxygen transfer efficiency withmaximum operating flexibility.

FlexAir T-Series units are configured with a premium quality EPDM rubbermembrane sleeve specifically perforated for high volumetric air handlingcapacity. For industrial and non-standard domestic applications alternatemembrane materials including urethane, silicone, and other specialtypolymers are available. Alternate perforation patterns are available forenergy sensitive applications or where maximum oxygen transfer efficiencyis desired. EDI also offers a variety of sizes of diffusers to meet airflowrequirements.

The FlexAir T-Series diffuser unit may be operated over a wide range ofairflows and requires minimum maintenance for long-term performance.The external triple check valve system eliminates the intrusion of water andsolids into the diffuser unit and air supply piping under normal operationconditions.

Standard FlexAir T-Series diffusers with 3/4-inch NPT (male), stainlesssteel nipples are factory assembled and ready for installation. For specialtyapplications alternate inlet connections are available.

FlexAir fine bubble tube diffusers have the following characteristics:

• Diffuser body constructed of PVC, alternate materials available.• Standard configuration includes 3/4-inch stainless steel nipple installed. The stainless

steel nipple can also be shipped loose, or EDI can provide a thru-mount connection formounting units on square tubing.

EDI FlexAir™ Fine Bubble Disc Diffusers

The FlexAir™ disc diffuser is a fine pore flexible membrane or ceramicmedia diffusers that provide operational flexibility with maximum oxygentransfer efficiency.

EDI’s 7-inch and 9-inch diameter diffusers employ a 3/4-inch diameter NPT(male) threaded connection for ease of installation/maintenance anduniversal application. Units can be mounted using the Universal DiffuserMount (see “Specialty Disc Diffuser Items”). The 9-inch diameter diffuseris also available with EDI’s innovative Spectrum Saddle Mount, whichprovides unmatched mechanical strength. Disc diffusers are constructed ofglass filled polypropylene and suitable for deep tank (high temperature)applications. Alternate materials of constructions are available for specialapplications.

FlexAir disc diffuser units are available with premium quality EPDMmembranes. Multiple perforation patterns are available to optimize systemperformance. The flexible membrane diffusers incorporate an external triplecheck valve design to prevent intrusion of liquid or solids into the diffuser orair piping under normal on/off operating conditions.

The 9-inch Spectrum Saddle Mounted diffuser is also available withpremium quality ceramic media diffusers. The ceramic disc diffuser is bestsuited for continuous aeration applications where maximum online servicelife is required.

EDI PermaCap 5™ Coarse Bubble Diffuser Unit

EDI PermaCap 5 diffusers are effective and efficient coarse bubblemembrane diffuser units. PermaCap coarse bubble units offer great value asa low cost aeration/mixing solution.

PermaCap 5 units are configured with a premium quality EPDM membranesperforated to minimize bubble coalescence. The flexible membrane isspecifically designed to exclude solids and provide long-term trouble freeoperation. Diffuser base and retaining ring are manufactured from durableABS.

The PermaCap 5 diffuser may be operated over a wide range of airflows andrequires minimum maintenance for long-term performance. The integralcheck valve eliminates the intrusion of water and solids into the air pipingunder normal on/off operations.

PermaCap 5 units are available with either 3/8-inch diameter NPT (male) or3/4 inch diameter NPT (male) threaded inlet to allow quick and simpleinstallation into threaded pipe applications. 3/4-inch units can be mountedusing the Universal Diffuser Mount (see “Specialty Disc Diffuser Items”).Units are particularly suited for drop pipe installation in package treatmentplants and channel aeration. Units are suitable for mounting on either thetop or bottom of the air distribution piping.

EDI MaxAir™ SS Wide Band Diffuser Unit

EDI MaxAir SS Wide Band diffusers are stainless steel coarse bubblediffuser assemblies used for maximum mixing applications. Units offersuperior coarse bubble distribution, maximum air handling capacity withgood oxygen transfer.

Diffusers are constructed of superior materials for long service life. Diffuserbody is heavy gauge 316 SS sheet and is continuous welded to 316 SS castinlet and ends.

MaxAir SS units can be applied in even the most demanding aeration/mixingapplications including flow equalization, channel mix/aerate, and aerobicdigester aeration/mixing applications. The open bottom constructionminimizes possible entrapment of solids in the unit when shut off providingsuperior long-term operation. If required EDI can supply the MaxAir unitswith an optional deflector installed.

MaxAir SS diffusers employ a 3/4-inch diameter NPT (male) threaded inletfor ease of installation and universal application. EDI offers 12-inch and 24-inch SS MaxAir Diffuser Units to meet your application needs.

Thru Tube Mounting Connection KitThe Thru Tube Mounting Connection Kit consists of astainless steel nipple with air inlet holes and twospecial EPDM rubber gaskets. The gaskets provide aseal and also serve as a bushing to hold the assembly inthe center the air piping. The stainless steel nipplejoins the two diffusers to complete the connection.

The kit is designed to mount T-Series diffusers tosquare or rectangular air piping. Reference thediffusers in the T-Series section to select the properdiffuser for your application. Call for part number and pricing. Specify the air piping cross-section dimension as well as the diameter of the outlet holes.

Cantex™ Conversion KitThe Cantex Conversion Kit consists a FlexAir T-Series91-502 T-Series unit (See T-Series section) and PVCadapter is threaded onto the existing1-1/2-inch NPT maleoutlet. Installation is completed by unthreading existingCantex unit and reinstalling the 91-502 T-Series unit andadapter. Conversion offers increased efficiency, lesssusceptibility to fouling, ability of on/off operation, as well as ease of maintenance.


EDI 316 SS Cast Diffuser MountThe special 316SS diffuser mount tee is designed to mount 3/4-inchcoarse bubble or fine bubble threaded tube diffusers on SS pipe. Themount is cast for maximum strength. A large diameter pipe contact areareduces pipe fatigue, making the diffuser mount suitable for even thinwall pipe. A special leveling bar on the bottom of the mount is utilizedduring the fabrication process to ensure diffusers will be level wheninstalled. The 316SS material can be used with either 304SS or 316SSpipe.

AERCOR™/Norton™ 7-inch Ceramic Dome to Membrane Conversion KitFlexible membrane conversion for 7-inch diameter ceramicdome units (1/2-inch center bolt design) to industry standard 9”-inch diameter disc membrane diffuser units. Conversion andupgrade provides major capacity increase, significant efficiencygains, and reduced maintenance requirements. Kits typicallyconsist of EDI 9-inch diameter advanced technology discdiffuser unit, with 3/4-inch NPT male threads, adapter for 1/2-inch threads, and stainless bolt for unit connection. Normaloperating airflow for the 9-inch diameter conversion unit is 0.5-5.0 scfm per unit.


Universal Diffuser MountThe Universal Diffuser Mount (UDM) for fine bubble or coarse bubble discdiffusers is designed to accept a 3/4-inch NPT diffuser connection. The UDMis engineered for use for use with 2-inch through 8-inch pipe. Pipe can be thinwall to heavy wall plastic or metal pipe. UDM can also be glued to PVC orABS piping if desired. Installation includes drilling a 1-1/4-inch diameterhole, de-burring the hole, installing the UDM (with or without glue) andscrewing the diffuser into the UDM. The UDM is to be used for mountingdiffusers on the top of the lateral and is not recommended for sidewall mount of diffuser units.Note: Special installation instructions included for each order.

Purchase Information

PricesEnvironmental Dynamics Inc. (EDI) reserves the right to adjust sale prices withoutnotice. All prices are in U.S. dollars and all accounts to be paid in U.S. dollars.

Shipping PolicyEDI will make every effort to ship orders for stock items within 3 days from receipt of anapproved Purchase Order. Shipments for expedited freight will be given priority. Fornon-stock items, EDI will notify client of anticipated ship schedule. Ship schedules aresubject to current workloads and may be adjusted to accommodate schedules.

WarrantyProducts manufactured by Environmental Dynamics Inc. are warranted to be free fromdefects in materials or workmanship for 12 months from the date of shipment or 12months from the date of start-up whichever comes first. Parts found to be defective inmaterials or workmanship will be repaired or replaced without charge, F.O.B. originalpoint of shipment. The responsibility of the EDI is limited to the cost of the defectivepart. Decomposition by chemical action and chemical precipitate, or wear caused by thepresence of abrasive materials, or faulty maintenance or operation shall not constitutedefects. Claims for defective, damaged or improper material or for shortages will not beallowed unless written notice specifying the nature and extent of the defect, damage orshortage is received in the EDI’s office within fourteen (14) days from unloading.

Freight ChargesShipments will be made “Freight Collect” or from the account of the buyer. Forapproved accounts, EDI will prepay and add the freight to the invoice.

Ship MethodsEDI will ship as specified by the client. EDI has daily scheduled pickups by UPS andFedEx. LTL and Truck Load shipments are arranged from EDI on a daily basis. EDI canschedule shipment through a forwarder or broker. EDI usually ships LTL on Conwayand USF Dugan. Other carriers can be arranged as required.

Returned GoodsEDI will accept return of goods which have not been installed or operated and are in theoriginal shipping carton. A 15% restocking charge will apply to all returns. All materialsto be returned must be accompanied by an EDI Returned Goods Authorization (RGA)number. Contact EDI for RGA information prior to return of product.

Customers in the U.S.A. and CanadaPayment OptionsAcceptable payment methods are cash, company check, wire transfer or credit card(MasterCard, Visa or American Express). Diffuser Express encourages the use of creditcard payment for purchases under $2000.00.

CreditEDI will ship to municipalities, private accounts, established industrial accounts andgovernmental agencies on open account with approved credit.

TermsEDI payment terms for approved accounts are 1% 10 day, Net 30 days from date ofinvoice. Interest rate at 1-1/2% per month will be charged on all accounts unpaid 30 daysafter the invoice date.

International CustomersPayment OptionsTypical international payment terms are prepayment via company check, wire transfer, orcredit card (MasterCard, Visa or American Express). Payment via Letter of Credit is alsoacceptable and sometimes preferable for large quantity purchases.

CreditInternational open accounts are available to pre-approved accounts and are subject toterms and conditions of the insurance program of the U.S.A. Department of CommerceExport Import Bank (Ex-Im Bank Insurance Program).
