Q&Agave me the right mindset to tackle life's challenges as they came. My photography mentor was Jen Hillenga. She taught me everything I know about portraiture and how to take beautiful photographs of people. I liked having a female mentor because it gave me a unique outlook on photography. Us guys tend to get too hung up on the technical aspects of the craft and completely neglect the human interaction that's so important to making a great portrait.
