1. Preface

This document describes how to install Web Listener and configure it.

Uninstallation of the utility is also explained.

2. Introduction

Web listener is the utility which provides the facility to print when the user is

in not in the DHL network (uag users).

2.1 Background

The target of this activity is to upgrade the Loftware Printer Server version

from 9.2.1 to 10.2.2

3. Loftware 9.7

3.1 Installation:

Go to the folder where the Setup.exe file is saved for the version 9.7.1 and

follow the below steps:

a) Run Setup.exe by double-clicking on it.

b) Choose your setup language and click on OK.

c) Follow the on-screen instructions until you reach the following screen.

Make sure that the Web Listener option is checked and On Demand

Print Client is unchecked.

d) Proceed with the rest of the installation by following the on-screen

instructions.

Click on Finish. The installation is complete.

3.2 Configuration

a) Start the Web Listener Configuration application by navigating to Start

-> Loftware Clients -> Web Listener Configuration. You will see the

screen titled General Configuration.

Enter the following values into the General Configuration screen:

URL: <IP address>

Port: <Port>

User Name: <user_name>

The above information will be provided to you by AMS Team when the

configuration needs to done.

b) If your network access requires a proxy, click on the Proxy Info button.

You will see the screen titled Proxy Information.

Enter the following values into the Proxy Information screen and click on

OK:

User Proxy Server to Connect: Checked

Proxy Server IP Address: <the IP address of your proxy server>

Proxy Server Port: <the port used by your proxy server>

c) Click on the Password button and enter the Loftware user’s password

into the Password and Confirm fields in the User Password screen. This

password, together with your user ID will be provided to you by AMS

Team. Click on OK when you are done.

d) Click on Next -> in the General Configuration screen. You will see the

Connection Status screen as the Web Listener attempts to contact the

Loftware servers. If the attempt by the Web Listener to connect to the

Loftware server fails, please contact an administrator.

e) If the connection was successful, the Web Listener will download your

printer configuration and you will see the main Web Listener

Configuration Utility screen. If you do not see a printer listed under

Printer Configuration, please contact your administrator.

f) Select a printer by clicking on it and then click on Configure. In the

Printer Configuration screen, select either Local Printer or IP Printer

depending on your printer configuration:

Local Printer: Choose the port that your printer is attached to.

IP Printer: Enter the IP address of your printer as well as the port (most

printers will use 9100 as the default port).

Once configured, you may test your configuration by clicking on Test Printer.

Click OK.

g) You will be returned to the main Loftware Web Listener Configuration

Utility screen. Configuration is complete.

3.2 Test and Verification:

Go to services. Choose the service Loftware Web Listener and click on start as

shown below:

Login in to the application. Select the order and give a print to the printer.

Note: Make sure

a) User should be connected to SSL VPN.

b) The web listener utility window is closed before starting the web listener.

3.4 Uninstallation:

a) Go to start menu and click on Control Panel

b) If the icons are arranged in following manner, click on down arrow (next

to large icons) as shown below and choose Category

c) Click on Uninstall a Program:

d) Look for Loftware Web Clients and right click on it. You will see the

options Uninstall and Change. Click on Uninstall. Wait for program to

uninstall:

4. Loftware 10.2

4.1 Installation:

Go to the folder where the InternetPrintingClient.exe file is saved for the

version 9.7.1 and follow the below steps:

a) Run InternetPrintingClients.exe by double-clicking on it.

b) The following screen will pop up. Click on Next.

c) Choose your setup language and click on Next.

d) Once the language is chosen, click on Next.

e) Click on Yes:

f) Choose your setup language and click on OK and follow the on screen

instructions.

g) After performing the above mentioned steps, following screen will appear.

Make sure that the Web Listener option is checked and Web On Demand

Print Client is unchecked.

h) Proceed with the rest of the installation by following the on-screen

instructions.

Click on Finish. The installation is complete.

4.2 Configuration:

a) Start the Web Listener Configuration application by navigating to Start ->

Web Listener-Configuration. You will see the screen titled General

Configuration.

Enter the following values into the General Configuration screen:

The above information will be provided to you by the AMS Team.

b) Click on the Password button and enter the Loftware user’s password into

the Password and Confirm fields in the User Password screen. This

password, together with your user ID will be provided to you by the AMS

Team. Click on OK when you are done.

c) Click on Next -> in the General Configuration screen. You will see the

Connection Status screen as the Web Listener attempts to contact the

Loftware servers. If the attempt by the Web Listener to connect to the

Loftware server fails, please contact an administrator.

e) Select a printer by clicking on it and then click on Configure. In the Printer

your printer configuration:

Local Printer: Choose the port that your printer is attached to.

IP Printer: Enter the IP address of your printer as well as the port (most

f) You will be returned to the main Loftware Web Listener Configuration

Utility screen. Configuration is complete.

4.3 Test and Verification:
