Development Of Our Company Ident

Software's That I Used

• When making the company ident there were a few software’s that I could possibly use.

• Programs such as; Photoshop, Fireworks or Paint. But altogether I really wanted to have an animated ident/logo so I chose to use Adobe After Effects.

• I had used it before so I was generally quite familiar with the program but I did use some tutorials on YouTube to help .

• In making the ident I also used a 3D program called ‘Cinema 4D’ to make the text look 3D and include some interesting lighting and colour scheme for the text.

Making the Backgroun

d

• When making the ident for our company I started off with focusing on the background and what it would look like.

• Instead of having a plain background with a solid colour I decided to make it more interesting by having a sort of cloudy effect.

• With help from some tutorials I used a plugin that came with After Effects called ‘Optical Flares’ and edited the properties to give it the effect.

• That and some clever change of the lighting to create a sort of mood to the ident, made it look slightly more interesting.

• Once I had that created I then proceeded to slightly animate the clouds a bit to increase the quality of our ident.

Making the Text In Cinema

4D• When I had completed the background I then

used ‘Cinema 4d’ to create the text for the ident.

• With Cinema 4D I was able to make the text look 3D and add some depth to it to make it look more aesthetically pleasing.

• The software also gave me a chance to make the text quite reflective so that it can reflect and adjust to any pieces of lighting that hits it.

• All this really made the overall ident look and have a much higher quality.

Putting Them

Together

• Once I had finished editing the text I then imported into after effects.

• Although instead of just placing it in from the beginning I decided to have it sort of flash in, in a sort of dramatic way.

• Again using the ‘Optical Flares’ plugin I used it to make a bright flash to cover the screen which would then reveal the 3D text.

• I also wanted to have the text exit in some way but instead of just fading out I decided to animate the text to sort of explode towards the screen.

• This overall giving quite an interesting effect for our company name in general.

• Then when everything was done I then proceeded to fully render it and turn it into a video format.
