Supervisory Board Expresses Confidence in Porsche Chairman
Stuttgart/Atlanta. In its meeting today, Friday 28 February 2014, the Supervisory Board of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, reappointed the Chairman of the Executive Board, Matthias Müller, for further five years. Matthias Müller has been Chairman of the sports car manufacturer since 1 October 2010. His new term of office will commence on 1 January 2015.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, thanked Matthias Müller, saying, “under his leadership, the company has continued to develop positively and the integration of the sports car manu-facturer into the Volkswagen Group worked perfectly. We look forward to working with him in the years to come.”
The Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the general and group works council of Porsche AG, Uwe Hück, emphasized the considerable increase in the number of employees, saying, “The Strategy 2018 is paying off. The integration into the Volkswagen Group and the independence of Porsche are no contradiction, they stand for success. Porsche and the number of employees are growing - in Zuffenhausen, in Weissach and in Leipzig. However, in spite of this growth, we want to preserve the proven Porsche culture and we will continue to go down this road with Matthias Müller. He is an employer with a heart and quite simply, that’s good for Porsche”.
At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Porsche Automobil Holding SE, Stuttgart, also extended Matthias Müller’s appointment as Chairman of Strategy and Corporate Development for further five years, starting on 1 January 2015. Matthias Müller takes on this function as well as that of the Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.

An InternAtIonAl HAven for tHe Auto SportS entHuSIASt Club Carrera’s secure, climate-controlled facility is the ideal place to store vehicles for short or longer terms.
However, storage is just where the fun begins. Select levels of membership also entitle you to enjoy the use of
our uniquely appointed clubhouse where you can entertain friends & family or conduct small
business meetings. There are additional advantages to storing cars in Oregon, which reduce the overall cost of
ownership. Strategic asset management often includes advantageous insurance rates for preferred garaging
environments like ours as well as vehicle registration benefits.

Getting in the GrooveLike a bear coming out of long winter’s hibernation, I am trying to get back into Porsche groove and I am finding it very difficult this year. However the bear is getting hungry and has ventured out to start foraging. Mmmm food! OK, let’s see where things stand since the last time I wrote an article for the club. I think the year was 2013.
That would make this 2014 and time to start planning for things to come. For those of you who have been attending our Cars and Caffeine gatherings (and there have been a surprising many of you) the talk of a planning meeting/kick off dinner has been mentioned many times by myself. Well you better take a seat. Are you sitting down? It has been scheduled! Mark Saturday, March 22 on your calendar. Make a note of 6:00pm. Under that note write “McMenamins, North Bank Restaurant”.
Now find a highlighter and make giant circles around the date. Perfect!!! For those of you who’ve been in the club awhile may recall the Daffodil Festival as being our typical kick-off event. This year it is being held on March 15/16. Last year you may recall the absence of the famous cinnamon rolls. I certainly remember this change. The blueberry pastry things just didn’t do it for me. Apparently others made a bigger deal of it and so this year the GIANT cinnamon rolls are back. This is welcome. What is less welcome is the elimination of parking at the event. Parking is now being done at Conser Quarry and a shuttle is running people back and forth.
Soooo…? I am trying to confirm that car clubs have no on site parking. If it has been eliminated, I don’t think we will plan a trip there this year. I will send out an announcement if we are and it is possible the event will occur before this goes to print (or whatever it is called when using the internet). I already know this coming year is a very busy one for me and I know the summer usually is a busy time for those of us in the PNW. We have only a few months nice months to pack in all the things that need to be done before we hunker back in and go into hibernate mode.
I hope the rumbling in your belly will get you out and about and maybe start the year by grabbing a bite with us at the meeting that is at the center of your big bright yellow circle.
See you on the road,
John

atLanta/mosCow. During a visit to her hometown of Sochi, Russia for the Olympics, Porsche Brand Ambassador Maria Sharapova presented her personal interpretation of an exceptional sportscar in the luxury segment – the Porsche Panamera GTS “by Maria Sharapova”. This unique Panamera demonstrates how a standard production car can be transformed into a unique and bespoke luxury sedan by adding exclusive custom options. The Panamera GTS “by Maria Sharapova“ demonstrates the most personal touch in terms of design, individual custom tailoring and, as a result, unsurpassed exclusivity – all typical attributes that also characterize the international tennis star.
“Creating and specifying a very personal Porsche Panamera GTS was such an exciting undertaking. It opens the door to a whole new design sensibility and allowed me to bring my own personal aesthetic.” said Sharapova. “It’s an ingen-ious melding of the design world with automotive personalization.”
The Porsche Panamera GTS “by Maria Sharapova“ is distinguished by a number of Porsche Exclusive options that extend beyond the already extensive list of extravagant modifications enjoyed by customers. It goes without say-ing that they all meet the stringent quality and safety requirements of Porsche. The exterior color of the Panamera GTS is Carrera White; sporty, high-gloss touches on the exterior are provided by the black LED main headlights including the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), the tinted LED rear lights, the black tailpipe covers of the sports exhaust system and the 20-inch Panamera sports wheels in black. Among the Exclusive options, the Porsche Panamera “by Maria Sharapova” is equipped with an extended leather trim in the interior with decorative stitching in crème and a partial carbon fiber trim. The instrument dials and vehicle key are painted to match the Carrera White body color. The front and rear headrests are embossed with the Porsche crest and the armrests are customized with the “Panamera GTS” model logo. The carbon fiber door guards also surprisingly feature “Maria Sharapova” lettering.
The Porsche Panamera GTS is equipped with a naturally aspirated 4.8 liter V8 engine with 440 hp at 6,700 rpm. It accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top track speed of 179 mph
