treatment, prevention, and specialty care for persons with HIV disease and those at ris
Our program has placed emphasis on reaching dentists and other dental practitioners
who are in the forefront of providing dental treatment to these individuals. Dental heal
professionals, as members of the HIV treatment team are critical in assessment and
ongoing oral health care. Dental health for HIV patients contributes to their well beingand improves their quality of life. This is the rationale for our outreach to dental healt
professionals and the reason for the development of this document. We hope that,
”Dental Management of Patients with HIV/AIDS: Concepts 2002" will prove useful to
dental health professionals as they move forward with improving both the quality of a
access to dental care for those with HIV disease.
