DELTA FORCE RELOAD “A DELTA FORCE RESOURCE SITE”

HOW TO INSTALL DEEP JUNGLE 3 MODIFICATION FROM BEARFORCE SWARM: Due to the confusion by some over the installation of “Deep Jungle 3 Modification” (DJ3) I have written this step by step instruction document to help gamers install the “Deep Jungle 3 Modification” (DJ3). You can download the Deep Jungle 3 Modification (DJ3-Full.EXE ) from http://bearforceswarm.net/index.php you can also download a .PDF file which shows you how to install the DJ3 Mod, but some of it is in German. Step1. The outcome of the following instructions is to copy your original Delta Force Xtreme folder that should be completely updated with the appropriate patches from Novalogic. Then you will rename the copy of the Delta Force Xtreme folder to something appropriate to you.

• Open Windows Explorer.

Please note that my Windows Explorer will look different from yours as I am using an OS upgrade.

• Locate and Open “C:/ Drive” (Highlighted in Yellow)

• Locate and Open “Program Files” (Highlighted in Yellow)

• Locate and right click on the “Delta Force Xtreme” folder a drop down menu will appear.

• Move the mouse pointer down until the “Copy” command is highlighted and click the left mouse button.

This will copy the selected folder to the clipboard.

• Next move the cursor to a clear area of the window and press the right mouse button,

• Move the mouse pointer down until the “Paste” command is highlighted and click the left mouse button.

This will copy the selected folder from the clipboard.

• You should have a file labeled “Copy of Delta Force Xtreme”

• Now we need to rename the folder that has been pasted to a name that is appropriate for you. I will use “Delta Force Xtreme DJ3 Mod” as an example.

• Locate and right click on the “Copy of Delta Force Xtreme” folder a drop down menu will appear.

• Move the mouse pointer down until the “Rename” command is highlighted and click the left mouse button.

• This will place a box around the existing name and it will also be highlighted.

• Type in an appropriate name i.e. “Delta Force Xtreme DJ3 Mod” as an example. When you have

finished typing press the “Enter” button.

You now have a copy of your original “Delta Force Xtreme”, which you have renamed to something appropriate in my example I have changed the name of the folder to “Delta Force Xtreme DJ3 Mod” Step2. In step 2 we will now proceed to the installation of the Deep Jungle 3 Modification (DJ3-Full.EXE) This can be done in two ways. The first option is:

1. Copy the downloaded file “DJ3-Full 3.2.EXE” to the new DFX folder you have created.

2. Then double click on the “DJ3-Full3.2.EXE” file this will open a dialogue box.

Note: By placing the “DJ3-Full3.2.EXE” file you do not need to select the Destination Folder it has been selected automatically for you. The draw back is that some files will be left in your DFX folder after the installation.

The second option is:

1. Go to the drive/folder that the “DJ3-Full3.2.EXE” file is located.

2. Then double click on the “DJ3-Full3.2.EXE” file this will open a dialogue box.

3. Move the mouse pointer over the “Browse” button and press the left mouse button. A new dialogue box will appear.

4. Select the Drive and DFX Folder it should look something like this;

C:\Program Files\NovaLogic\Delta Force Xtreme DJ3 Mod

5. When you are ready you can them move the mouse pointer over the “Install” button and press the left mouse to begin the installation.

The installation:

• During the installation you will be shown five dialogue boxes each time this happens you will need to click once on the install button.

• You will also see a DOS COMMAND window this will show the process of extraction and packing of

files from the zip.

• What is happening is that each process needs to be extracted from the zip file and the packed into the corresponding PFF file located in you DFX folder.

• The five extraction and packing steps are as follows.

• Step 1 for language • Step 2 for localres • Step 3 for resource • Step 4 for med • Step 5 for maps (even though there are no maps in the zip file it will go through the process)

NOTE: This process will take a little while to complete and the DOS COMMAND window may appear to be doing nothing. BE PATIENT the program is working in the background.

• The final stage is the optimizing of the five categories of extracted and packed files and will look like this;

• Once this has been completed you will see the final screen.

• Just follow the on screen DOS prompt and press a key to finish the installation process. Step3: To play the new DJ3 Mod you will need to create a new shortcut of the DFX.EXE from the new folder you added the modification too, otherwise you will always start the original DFX from your desktop.

• Open Windows Explorer and locate the folder you placed the DJ3 Mod into.

• Locate and right click on the “DFX.EXE” folder a drop down menu will appear.

• Move the pointer down to “Send To” and a smaller menu will appear

• Move the pointer over to “Desktop {create shortcut)” to highlight and left click mouse button

This places a shortcut of the “DFX.EXE” on your desktop

• Next move the pointer over the “Shortcut to DFX.EXE” and right click the mouse button and a drop down menu will appear.

• Move the mouse pointer down until the “Rename” command is highlighted and click the left mouse button.

• This will place a box around the existing name and it will also be highlighted.

• Type in an appropriate name i.e. “DJ3 Mod” as an example. When you have finished typing press the

“Enter” button.

You are ready to load and use the DJ3 Mod. Double click on the new desktop shortcut and the following screen will appear once the program has loaded.
