New Horizons Soup Kitchen We ask you to bring three important things with you: a willingness to work hard, an open and positive attitude, and a smile! We can promise you that you will work hard, have some fun, and learn a great deal about yourself and your fellow human beings. We need approximately 12 servers each time we volunteer. If interested, please contact Stephanie Piet at 315-5026. Please volunteer with us on the fourth Sunday of every month. Join us, you will not be disappointed!!!

New Year’s Eve Celebration, December 31st

Please come and join us on New Year’s Eve to celebrate, together as a family, the upcoming year and the passing of the current one. The New Year’s Eve Celebration will be held on December 31, 2013 from 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM at the Assumption Church Hall. We hope you can join us!

Philoptochos News

A “Thank You” from Ladies Philoptochos The weekend of October 25th and 26th featured another successful Ladies Philoptochos Autumn Bazaar. To the many people who helped in the kitchen in preliminary preparations including baking, cooking, packaging of food, setting up the tables – we thank you! The young people from our church GOYA Youth Ministry were wonderful in taking over the refreshment booth! Working together as a team in our church is always a positive effort toward successful events such as our yearly bazaar. We appreciate all efforts and donations of cash and pastries as well as the time many donated in our various stations. This year we had Attic Treasures and Christmas Table which we would like to continue for next year.

Cookbooks for Christmas The Ladies Philoptochos would like to suggest the cookbook that we have offered for many years be purchased for Christmas gifts. Please consider giving one of these beautiful books as gifts this year. The recipes used in our kitchen are taken from this cookbook which were compiled by the Ladies Philoptochos Society in Charleston, SC from the Church of the Holy

Trinity. The recipes in this wonderful book are tried and true, and the layout is easy to follow. Any member of Philoptochos will gladly provide you with as many copies as you would like for the cost of $20 per book.

Coffee Hours Please contact a Philoptochos Board member or the church office if you would like to sponsor a coffee hour. If you have a special date in mind, please reserve it early.

Youth News On Sunday, December 14, 2014, our little ones will present their annual Christmas Pageant immediately following the Divine Liturgy. Following the pageant, please join us for the coffee hour sponsored by the Tsatsopoulos family and served by the Youth Ministry. Following the coffee hour, the children will participate in a Holiday craft and a visit from "the guy in the red suit". Please remember we are collecting non-perishable food items through Christmas for NH Food Bank. We are also having a Coat, Mitten, and Hat Drive and ask every child that will participate in our Holiday craft and Visit from Santa to bring in an item for this drive. We will deliver these to New Horizon's Soup Kitchen to pass out to those in need.

Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Community Christmas Card Fundraiser 2014

As the Christmas Season quickly approaches, we are, once again, asking our parish community and friends of the Assumption Church to participate in our annual community Christmas Card. This year’s donation remains at $15.00 per household. However, any amount you wish to contribute above this will be most welcomed. It’s that time of year again to think about sending our Christmas and New Year’s wishes to everyone. Our Christmas Card will be sent to more than 300 Assumption Church parish families and friends. Please complete the form below and return it together with your check made payable to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church or to any Parish Council Member by Sunday, December 7, 2014. BUSINESS CARD ADVERTISING Anyone with a business that would like to advertise in our monthly bulletin, please contact the Church office. A business card format, about 2 ½” x 1 ½” will run for a period of 12 months for one set fee of $150.00 a year. This will help to defray the ever-increasing costs of printing and mailing these bulletins to our homes as well as advertising your business to our parishioners and through word of mouth, to their friends. This is a great opportunity for all!
