In international terms, Dania Academy of Higher Education is a university of applied sciences, and our programmes include applied degrees in the fields of technology, IT, business and health. Out of our 21 programmes, 5 are taught entirely in English at our two largest campuses, Randers and Viborg.

Dania is one of nine regional academies in Denmark. Our campuses are located in eight cities across the Central Denmark Region: Randers, Viborg, Grenaa, Hadsten, Hobro, Horsens, Skive and Silkeborg.

At Dania, we develop and offer practice-oriented higher-education programmes at undergraduate level (AP and BA degrees).

Our courses combine theory and practice, and students actively take part in classroom sessions and receive tutoring in small groups during project work. We cultivate our strong ties with relevant local industries, and real-life cases and internships are an important part of our programmes.

With a staff of 155 and 2500 full-time students, 320 of whom are international, as well as many part-time students, we play an important role in Denmark’s higher-education sector.

On 1 January 2009, Dania Acade-my of Higher Education became a reality, as the result of a merger incorporating 7 inde-pendent academies.

Erasmus+ and other exchange opportunities

We welcome exchange students in all of our programmes, but students who choose a Danish-taught programme must have a good command of Danish. Dania’s own students are encouraged to go abroad for one semester of study and for their internship.

Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships & other EU projects

GameBiz

As part of the Erasmus+ programme, Dania is a core partner in the project GameBiz, working alongside university partners from the Netherlands, UK, Malta and Spain as well as one of Europe’s leading game incubators, Dutch Game Garden.

GameBiz focuses on knowledge transfer, and its main purpose is to develop a model to create and support incubation environments for the gaming industry.

This model will also be integrated into the curricula of the participating institutions and, eventually, at other educational institutions.

Game Hub Scandinavia

Game Hub Scandinavia is an EU project under the Interreg programme.

It is designed to support and strengthen existing game incubation environments and to promote cross-border networks between game incubators and educations in the Scandinavian region over the next 4 years.

Besides Dania, the project consortium consists of 7 very diverse partners from Den-mark, Norway and Sweden.

Internationalisation

InnoGuide 2.0

Along with partners from Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland and Croatia, Dania is participating in the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project InnoGuide 2.0.

This project aims to develop an online platform for train-the-trainer modules and workshops designed to educate guide trainers. At the same time, the partnership is developing a self-evaluation tool for guide organisations to help them assess their level of sustainability.
