The ShowThe Show Roundabout

Choreography by Kaloyan Boyadzhiev

The stage production Roundabout re-creates scenes from the world renowned poem and play “Peer Gynt” by Henrik Ibsen and is produced in 2006 in the Royal Norwegian Opera and Ballet in honor of the 100th anniversary since the death of the famous Scandinavian author and dramatist. The ballet develops the emotional storyline of the play through fast paced etudes with movements from the Norwegian folklore and the modern dance. Spotlights and real rain on the stage help the recreation of a fairy tale fantastic atmosphere of the Scandinavian epos and the reinforcement of the charge of the show. The scenes in Roundabout alternate on the music background of “Peer Gynt” from Edvard Grieg. The performance receives huge acclaim by the Norwegian public and critic.

The ShowThe Show

Arpeggio Choreography by Nils Christe

Inspired by the violin and orchestra concert of one of the biggest contemporary composers Philip Glass, Нилс Кристи, who says about himself: “I do not like to talk about my work, because then I would have to be a writer…”, creates a dance story in three parts, dedicated to the collision as an ancient driving force for the human being, which helps them escape the masses and become an individual. This collision is the love. Everything begins in purity and seeming coldness with the appearance of the masses, chaos, the movement of the elements – the lack of meaning before love is discovered. When people find love, they sink into its beauty and harmony, in order to turn into complete individuals, separated from the masses, already lived through the dramatic collision of emotions, thanks to which they get to know what they have lacked so far – the soul.

The ShowThe Show

JourneyChoreography by Lars Scheibner

Imagine the planet Earth as a human being: the mountains are its bones, the land is its flesh, the rivers are its veins, and the sea – its heart. The moon and the sun are its eyes, and the sky its lungs, which exhale powerful as well as tender winds. The soul of the Earth becomes alive with the tiny nerve cells – the people. This entire magical picture revives before the eyes of a small child in an unique beauty of storylines, images and movements – from myths of the ethno music through legends, told by the classical, to the emotion of the unique Balkan rhythms and the magic of the Bulgarian folklore. Words cannot explain this extraordinary show. Suffice it to mention that their recommendations for the choreographer have sent world renowned names such as Maya Plisetskaya and Rodion Shchedrin.
