Satan Is a Deceiver2 Corinthians 11:13-15

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light,” 2 Corinthians 11:14.

Lahore Pakistan: Dr Maima, fake neurosurgeon, deceived National Services Hospital administration and performed many complicated brain and spine surgeries on patients for eight months with fake credentials in the second largest health facility in the country of Paki-stan. After exposure, she continued surgeries until she was removed and was only fired, without punishment, because of her social connec-tions. Satan has been deceiving God’s people for six thousand years. Satan’s deceived ministers are the disciples of Satan. However, they pretend to be disciples of Christ. In every false religion and cult, Satan rules by fear and deception. If Satan presents himself to man as a comforter, he can easily exchange God’s agenda for his own. Parents have been known to scare children into submission by conjuring in their mind an evil creature that will “get you if you don’t straighten up.” Satan has been deceiving young people by making sin appear pleasurable. He teaches them also not to fear evil creatures, having them play with monster dolls, monster games, watching evil entertainment until satiated children believe evil is normal. If sin was not any fun, Satan would have no customers. He makes sin socially acceptable, but hides the consequences until it is too late. He was created a most beautiful angel, full of wisdom and beauty. God never took that away from him. He uses his wisdom and beauty to trap us, making sin practical and pleasurable.

THOUGHTTeach your children that Satan makes

sin irresistible, inviting them to participate. Teach them to ask, “What would Jesus have me do?”

We Are Not To Be DeceivedMatthew 24:5-14

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many,”Matthew 24:11.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt: “Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. The United States was at peace with that nation, and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to our secretary of state a formal reply to a recent American message....During the intervening time the Japa-nese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.” Jesus warns us of deceivers who will come making promises that all is well, when actually, the end-time world is falling apart. Humans are destroying each other and love will be almost non-existent, replaced by chaos, and that’s only the tip of Titanic’s iceberg. Lurking below the surface, Satan orchestrates man’s self-destruction. He is playing man’s tune, touting the message that the antichrist has all the answers and comes bringing peace. Satan appeals to man’s dark side, promising see-touch-and-feel comfort. “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” (2 Corinthians 4:3, 4).

THOUGHT“For there shall arise false Christs, and false

prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very

elect” (Matthew 24:24). Study God’s Word and be not deceived. Robert Brock

Revelation Began with a BookRevelation 5:2-10

“The Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof,” Revelation 5:5.

Actually, the scroll of Revelation was spiritually related to the scroll of Daniel. (See Daniel 12.) “There shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:…And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12:1, 2, 4). It appears the seven-sealed book opened by the lion of the tribe of Judah is revealing the information Daniel hid with sealing wax until man was spiritually intelligent enough to understand the magnificent revelation. The Lion of the tribe of Judah’s first mention came from Genesis 49:10, where God specifically established Judah as the king line. Jesus’ grandpa, David, was the first king in the line of Judah, and Jesus was the last. “The sceptre [symbol of king’s authority] shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh [Prince of peace] come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine [Revelation 19:13], and his clothes in the blood of grapes: his eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk [symbols of His sacrifice]” (Genesis 49:10-12).

THOUGHTJesus is literally Israel’s last legitimate king. Is He King

of your heart? If so, you know peace the world cannot understand.

Jesus Did Many Things Not Recorded

John 20:26-31

“Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence

of his disciples, which are not written in this book,” John 20:29, 30.

George Washington, commander of the Continental forces in New York, read the Declaration of Independence aloud in front of City Hall to a riotous crowd of Americans. The same day they tore down a nearby statue of the English King George III, melted it down and shaped the metal into more than forty-two thousand musket balls for the fragile American army. Many things have happened connected to major events that most people do not know because they were not recorded. Jesus performed so many thousands of miracles that they could not all be written. “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written,” (John 21:25). At this period in the gospel story, Jesus had already been resur-rected and was teaching His apostles to live by faith and not by sight. He was teaching His church to carry the gospel to the entire world, As soon as the New Testament Scriptures were finished, miracles became unemployed (1 Corinthians 13). “These are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name” (John 20:31).

THOUGHTThe gospel is all that is needed for the world to be

convinced that Jesus is of God and paid for our sins.

Jesus Preached from a BookLuke 4:14-28

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read,” Luke 4:16.

The book noted in this verse was not a many leafed book as we know books. It was a scroll. The Dead Sea scroll of Isaiah was 24' long. It was found in 1947 by Bedouin shepherds near the Dead Sea below Jerusalem when a shepherd boy was looking for his lost sheep. He heard pottery break when he threw stones into a cave. It is older, by one thousand years, than all the Hebrew Isaiah scroll manuscripts. It is the only scroll from the Qumran Caves to be preserved almost in its entirety. Jesus had given the writing of the book of Isaiah to the prophet almost a thousand years before the incident that is recorded in Luke 4:16-21. He and His brothers had probably sat before these rabbis in synagogue school and memorized the same portions of Isaiah. Isaiah was a very large scroll with no capitals, no chapter or verse numbers, only column after column of writing with no breaks. Jesus had to have practiced unrolling the scroll many times at school to find this exact Scripture. These rabbis that He read to on this occasion may have been His teachers. He literally was telling His old school teachers that He is God. Jesus and His family probably attended the synagogue on a regular basis. Jesus set the example for us by His practice of assembling to worship God (1 Peter 2:21).

THOUGHTFaithful Christian parents who raise their children in “the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4) at home, Sunday School

and worship services reap rewards, now and for all eternity.
