A SPECIAL PROFILE INFOLETTER OF THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRIES COUNCIL, INC. Vol. 6, Issue 3 The stars were out on May 9 at CBS Television City for the taping of the 6 th Annual PRISM Awards. Blow, starring Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp, received the PRISM Award in the Theatrical Feature Film category. Cruz presented a special tribute to director Ted Demme as part of the Blow feature film nod. Demme’s wife Amanda accepted on behalf of the late filmmaker. A PRISM also went to Ozzy Osbourne for his song “Junkie” in the Music Recording or Music Video category, one of two new PRISM categories this year. Meredith Brooks opened this year’s ceremony with a special preview of her single “Shine.” The uplifting song set the theme for the evening, as the stage shone bright with star power and energetic support of the PRISM Awards’ recognition of the entertainment industry’s accurate depiction of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and addiction. The 6th Annual PRISM Awards is a production of the Entertainment Industries Council,Inc. (EIC) in partnership with The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and theNational Institute on Drug Abuse/National Institutes of Health (NIDA/NIH).
