PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
2009 – Present Member: ALIA MUSICA Pittsburgh (AMP) Guitarist and composer member of contemporary music collective dedicated to the creation and performance of new works from the Pittsburgh area. In addition to composing for and performing in the ensemble, duties include participating in composer forums with non‐AMP Pittsburgh composers, reviewing call for scores submissions, researching and securing performance opportunities, advertising and promotion. Highlights of recent seasons include:
• 2014: Pittsburgh Festival of New Music. Showcasing local music organizations, as well as hosting international acts, including a performance of John Luther Adams’ Inuksuit, Robert Ashley’s Perfect Lives, and a rare piano recital by Frederick Rzewski.
• 2013: Hosting world‐renowned flutist and composer Robert Dick for a three‐day Pittsburgh residency to include performances of music by Pittsburgh composers, as well as the premiere of Mr. Dick’s flute concerto Meristem.
• 2012: Hear/Now Festival of New Sound at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater. Two‐day
festival of new music featuring musicians from eighth blackbird, Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, AMP, as well as hip hop artist DJ Spooky, and audio artist Pamela Z.
