Nato a Forli’ il 10 Maggio 1970
Il Prof. Fabio Mantellini ha conseguito la Laurea in Chimica Industriale presso la Facoltà di
Chimica Industriale dell'Università degli Studi di Bologna nell'anno accademico 1994-95,
discutendo la tesi sperimentale "Sintesi a temperatura ambiente di aza e 1,2-diaza eterocicli a varie
dimensioni usando una ciclocondensazione mediata da PCl3" con relatore il Chiar.mo Prof.
Graziano Baccolini..
Il Prof. Fabio Mantellini partecipa dal 1 Aprile 1996 alle attività di ricerca presso la Sezione di
Chimica Organica del ipartimento di Scienze Biomolecolari dell'Università di Urbino nel campo dei
derivati dell'idrazina e dei composti eterociclici contenenti l'atomo di azoto, zolfo, selenio.
Nell’ambito di queste ricerche, il Prof. Mantellini ha partecipato come collaboratore a diversi
progetti nazionali (PRIN 2003, PRIN 2004, PRIN 2005).
Il 6 Giugno 1996 ha conseguito l'abilitazione all'esercizio della professione di Chimico presso
l'Università degli Studi di Modena.
Nel 1999, nell‟ambito di un progetto di ricerca con il Prof Lutz F. Tietze il Prof. Fabio Mantellini si
è recato in Germania, presso la Georg-August-Universität di Göttingen in qualita di Visiting
Researcher, sviluppando una nuova procedura per la sintesi in fase solida di diversi nuclei
eterociclici. Ha inoltre collaborato in numerosi altri progetti di ricerca con gruppi stranieri facenti
riferimento a: Prof. Francisco Palacios (Spagna), Prof. Peter Langer (Germania), Prof. Vahuni
Karapetaìyan, (Armenia), Prof. Branko Stanovnik (Slovenia), Prof. Athina Geronikaki (Grecia),
Prof Carmen Najera (Spagna).
Dal 1 Novembre 2002 è ricercatore universitario (Settore scientifico-disciplinare: CHIM/06) presso
l'Istituto di Chimica Organica della Facoltà di Scienze Matematiche, Fisiche e Naturali
dell'Università di Urbino, essendo risultato vincitore di pubblico concorso per titoli ed esami.
Dal 1 Novembre 2013 è responsabile e coordinatore della Sezione di Chimica Organica e delle
Sostanze Organiche Naturali del Dipartimento di Scienze Biomolecolari dell'Università degli Studi
di Urbino “Carlo Bo”.
In data 11 Dicembre 2013 ha conseguito l’Abilitazione Nazionale Scientifica a Professore di II
Fascia nel settore scientifico disciplinare 03/C1 (Chimica Organica).
Dal 1 Novembre 2015 è professore associato (Settore scientifico-disciplinare: CHIM/06) presso il
Dipartimento di Scienze Biomolecolari dell'Università degli Studi di Urbino “Carlo Bo”, essendo
risultato vincitore di pubblico concorso per titoli ed esami.
Il Prof. Mantellini è stato relatore di diverse tesi di Laurea Magistrali e tesi di Dottorato in Scienze
Chimiche, ed ha partecipato a numerose commissioni di Laurea per i Corsi in Chimica e Tecnologie
Farmaceutiche, Farmacia, Biotecnologie, Biologia, Restauro e Conservazione dei Beni Culturali.
Il Prof. Mantellini ha allacciato contatti con diverse realtà nazionali ed internazionali per il
reperimento di fondi per la ricerca che hanno portato a collaborazioni con Du-Pont USA, Merck-
Serono, Syngenta AG, Gruppo Paci Pagliari, Società Aesis Therapeutics.
Il Prof. Mantellini è autore di 85 pubblicazioni scientifiche ad alto fattore di impatto su riviste
internazionali e di 54 comunicazioni a convegni nazionali ed internazionali.
