Overseeing the administrative and academic functions of the department. I spearheaded the
review of BSc. Biotechnology Program, MSc. Botany and the development of curricula for BSc.
Biological Program. I was a member of the University Senate and the College Management Board.

Examination Officer, School of Biological Sciences, JKUAT
Coordinating examination functions of the School. I consolidated students’ marks from
departments, prepared senate examination documents, processed student transcripts and
classified degree awards. I also handled student examination queries and provided students with
decisions from the senate board of examiners regarding course progression. I worked closely with
the Dean to ensure that departments are aware of and complied with all deadlines for returning
marks.

Research stay at the Department of Ecology at SLU supported by the Agriculture for Food Security
(AgriFoSe2030) program. I worked and published on two projects: (1) Regulating ecosystem
services delivered in agroforestry systems, and (2) A meta-analysis on the Effects of mixed cropping
systems on weeds, pests and diseases – meta-analysis.

Partnered with AFF in development of training modules for a compendium on Rapid Forest Carbon Stock Appraisal (RaCSA) for informal groups. Partnered with ICRAF to review AFOLU Bio-carbon projects in Eastern and Southern Africa
(COMESA-EAC-SADC). I conducted a desk review of bio-carbon projects targeting mitigation of
greenhouse gases in forestry and other land-based systems in selected countries.
