Aims and Aspirations:

My aim is a role where I can be involved in more than one aspect within the business. Being a multi-faceted person, I enjoy an environment where my skills can be utilized on different levels, and where I can express myself in more ways than one.

Servicing a customer properly takes time and thought. I do not subscribe to “fast sell”; I am a focused relationship builder. I am strong willed, driven, outgoing, professional and decisive. I enjoy face-to-face interaction with client, and I am unbeatable at after sales service.

Some of my strongest skills include administration, organisation, communication, system flow, process management and attention to detail. Interacting with other departments inspires me, as we work together to bring projects to successful and lucrative completion.

I am goal driven and I enjoy motivating others. My mischievous, humorous and fun loving nature uplifts morale in general.

With regard to sales, I am able to operate in any industry, not just publishing. I would like to represent a company that is established in the marketplace and a tried and tested product(s) that sells itself, so to speak.

My personal integrity and years of experience in business makes me an asset to potential employers. I believe I can help any business grow in multiple ways.Education:

Achievements:

In terms of achievements I would like to concentrate on my years with Times Media as my best milestones occurred during my time with them.

I started as Advertising Sales Executive in 2007 on the Professions & Projects Register. Due to neglect this valuable publication was on the edge of being discontinued. Cardinal relationships with industry representative bodies no longer existed. Through contact with the various Institutes, Councils, and Associations, I managed to re-establish these valuable relationships. The expected sales target was R650,000. I booked R1 million on my first edition, pushing the bar up significantly. The front cover of the book had never been sold before. I put together the first front cover package which included a company profile in the book.

I introduced a number of additions to the book:

o The “Products and Services” section. Previously only professionals were listed. Products and services needed to be included in the book, which expanded the advertising sales potential greatly.

o Tabbed category dividers for the different sections making it easier to navigate through the book and adding additional advertising options.

o “The Industry in Pictures” – a pictorial overview of the latest construction work in the industry. I gathered all photography and text and submitted to the Art Director for layout.

o The Excel Spreadsheet used for final layout was implemented by me, and was the most accurate tracking system for the compilation and completion of the book. It was also used for invoicing at the end.

o The last stage was final design and layout, and checking drafts for correctness and accuracy before sending to print.

My work on the Professions & Projects Register is my greatest career achievement thus far. I turned a flailing publication around and made it what it is today – a fresh, modern and highly esteemed publication throughout the construction industry.

I attribute my success to my passionate nature and dedication to always produce to the best of my abilities. I have an insatiable enquiring mind and research of all sorts is a daily part of my life. Times Media and the Professions & the Professions & Projects Register was a foundation for me to grow upon, for which I am grateful.
