MODEL 250 AUTHORIZED MAINTENANCE CENTERS (AMCS),
PUBLICATIONS, ROLLS-ROYCE TELEPHONE CONTACTS,WARRANTY, TRAINING AND UNAPPROVED PARTS
We have established a worldwide network of Authorized Maintenance Centers (The First Network),Rolls--Royce Service Centers, Authorized Military Surplus Centers and Authorized Repair Facilities toprovide local access to technical assistance, technical representatives, training, service and maintenanceinformation, engine inspection, and repair and overhaul. Additionally, The First Network offers engine andmodule exchange and rental programs that provide backup support during the engine warranty period andafter warranty expiration. These companies are established businesses recognized for their expertise in thegas turbine industry. A locator map of the First Network sites is enclosed with this CSL (REF. Fig. 1).
Provided with the engine log book package is a copy of the latest Rolls-Royce Model 250 WorldwideAuthorized Maintenance Center Directory. The directory shows the locations of each AMC and describestheir capabilities. We strongly suggest that you contact the AMC of your choice as soon as possible to
establish lines of communication for your engine support.
In addition to the AMCs, Rolls-Royce has Authorized Repair Facilities (ARFs) who have limited detailpiece part overhaul capability approval. There detailed capabilities can be obtained from either the (ARF)or from Rolls-Royce Model 250 customer support.
We would also like to remind you of the importance of providing proper maintenance for your new gasturbine engine. Gas turbine engines are extremely sensitive to improper or poor maintenance and,hence, can be expensive to operate if not maintained properly. The Model 250 Operation andMaintenance Manual and Illustrated Parts Catalog, which are provided free of charge with each newModel 250 engine, should be utilized and their instructions followed explicitly. Special attention should bedirected to the warnings and cautions summarized in the front section of your Operation and MaintenanceManual to assure safe and reliable operation.
Additionally, if your personnel are not familiar with gas turbine engines, it is extremely important that thistraining be obtained prior to operating and maintaining your Model 250 gas turbine engine.
It would be of great benefit for all gas turbine engine owners and operators to familiarize themselves withthe Commercial Service Letters that pertain to their engine, as they contain a wealth of useful information.The following highlighted CSLs are listed for your information and review on the topics of Rolls-Roycepublications, Rolls-Royce telephone contacts, warranty, training, and unapproved parts.

Rolls-Royce plc and Aviall, Inc. have entered into an agreement for worldwide civil aftermarket partssupport of Rolls-Royce Model 250 turboshaft and turboprop engines. Effective January 1, 2000, allmarketing, sales, order administration, warehousing, repaired component order coordination, product andpublications distribution will be conducted exclusively through Aviall from their more than 40 customerservice centers located around the world.
With only one telephone call to 1--800--AVIALL1 (800--284--2551, 972--586--1000 International or fax1--972--586--1367) or an internet connection at www.aviall.com, Model 250 operators and customers canobtain virtually everything necessary to maintain their engine.
As a recognized industry leader, Aviall brings incredible capability and expertise which will allow bettersupport to the end user. In addition to being a one stop source, customers will benifit through fasterdelivery and elimination of maufacturing lead times. This will enable operators to lower the number ofproducts and quantity of each item in their inventory, leading to reductions in carrying, administrative and
labor costs. The result will be a significant increase in value for the customers.
Business relastionships between Model 250 operators and their airframe manufactures, repair andoverhaul activity performed for operators by independent Rolls-Royce Authorized Maintenance Centers,are unaffected by this change in civil aftermarket product distribution.

2. Technical/Financial Audits
On a regular basis, normally every 18 to 24months, Rolls-Royce performs an audit of eachRolls-Royce approved First Network facility. The
audit team consists of appropriate number ofRolls-Royce personnel and generally lasts two tothree days. Five key areas are audited: Technicalshop, quality, service parts, sales/customersupport, financial (includes warranty claims), andtraining.
Rolls-Royce does not conduct any audits of otherfacilities.
3. Technical Information
In addition to Instructions for ContinuedAirworthiness (ICA), Rolls--Royce providestechnical, financial, and customer supportinformation to First Network. This information
includes product improvements, part modificationinformation, investigation findings, reliabilityinformation, troubleshooting, and productknowledge. This information is updated as requiredand is based on our decades of design andengineering expertise.
Rolls--Royce only makes available through AviallInstructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) toother shops.

4. Service Evaluation Programs
Rolls-Royce has ongoing service evaluationprograms for new and improved engine parts andcomponents. Generally, these parts are providedfree of charge for installation by a Rolls-RoyceAMC. In return, the operator using serviceevaluation parts reports regularly on the status ofthese parts. Many operators are currentlyparticipating or have participated in these serviceevaluation programs.
Rolls-Royce does not provide serviceevaluations to operators using facilities outsidethe First Network.
5. Management, Maintenance, Overhaul and
Parts Conferences
Rolls-Royce holds up to three yearly Conferencesfor all Rolls-Royce AMCs. These conferencesprovide an abundance of information and a forumfor addressing problems and sharing field serviceexperience which helps reduce engine overhauland repair costs.
Other shops do not attend Rolls-RoyceConferences.
6. Part and Component Rework Capability
Rolls-Royce First Network facilities have extensiverework capability of Rolls-Royce 250 engine
components and piece parts. Many repair/reworkschemes are also approved by Rolls-Royce.
