Filtered Transparencies attempts to create an inhabitable image. Through projecting graphics on a series of invisible porous screens the material becomes simultaneously planar and volumetric. Participants can traverse the visuals by moving between the screens or and alter/distort the content by interfacing with a sensor or manipulating the screens. As art director I designed and coordinating the fabrication of the structure and contributed conceptual and graphical content for the projections.

Project S’more was an exercise in architecture as community builder. It created a proof of concept to replace standard hardwood housing frames with laminated plywood — a method for using a mater that yields 90% less waste. The fabrication process was driven by creating our own tools, from custom pressure forming jigs to a multitool 4’ x 10” CNC machince and router.
Fabricated through public volunteer workshops led by Oliver Hess at Aperiodic Industries, I was the project coordinator managing fabrication and construction.

La Cage aux Folles is a space-age jungle gym. Technically speaking it is an experiment in utilizing the craft of pipe bending to construct surfaces of linear strands which define variable spatial conditions in synchronicity with structural needs. It was fabricated and constructed largely through volunteer workshops. I co-directed the fabrication and construction workshops.

Benj (Sony Records) & Cher Lloyd (Epic Records) - “What I Like” Music Video, Snow Beach Productions, 2015Production Designer
“What I Like” is a music video for new Sony Records’ signee, hip hop artist, Benj, and pop star, Cher Lloyd. The aesthetic for “What I Like” is drawn from a mix of early 1990’s hip hop, Nickelodeon cartoons and contemporary skater culture. The clients wanted poppy colors dressing a mix of urban and surrealist environments that would convey an edgy, fun, and youthful atmosphere.

Hyatt Photobooth - “All In” CampaignInstallation, Rokkan Agency, 2014Treasure Island, Newport Beach, CA

The “All In” installation was a photobooth with a rotating diorama foreground and a digital screen background. As the starting point of Hyatt’s campaign, participants were selected to be photographed “immersed” in 4 different adventures - destinations to which a select few winners would a vaccation.

Eureka & the Biomass is a sci-fi mini-musical in which the fallout of our current ecological conundrums set the stage for a love affair between a synthetic organism and a human being in the year 2100. Through puppeteering, original music and onstage special effects the performance will present a Beauty and the Beast for the 22nd century. As art and technical director I collaborated on conceptual and design development of the biomass creature and the set, and was the lead designer and fabricator of the Biomass’ performative skeleton and skin.
