Transport Program

Course InformationCCEMTPsm is open to any paramedic or nurse who has worked in that capacity for one (1) year.

Students with proficiency in anatomy and physiology, biology, pharmacodynamics, med math, and chemistry will be best prepared for the course. A copy of your current professional licensure must be submitted with your registration.

This intensive course offers the educational foundation which will prepare the paramedic or nurse to become a critical care transport specialist. The 100 hour course covers a wide variety of critical care topics, including:

Critical Care Environment Breathing Management Surgical Airway Management Hemodynamic Management Cardiac Management Pharmacological Management GI, GU, and Renal Management Neurological Management Transport Consideration Special Considerations

You will earn 100 hours of contact hours from UMBC thru CECBEMS.

October 5, 12The course will be held 8:00 am – 5:30 pm LRC 128 on the dates listed.

Those who complete the course will be evaluated by written examination at the end of the course. Upon successful completion the student will receive a renewable 3 year certificate issued by UMBC.

Course cost is $950 and includes student manual, lab fee, and initial

UMBC examination fee.
