Sustainability

Think Cradle to Grave; Concrete contains recycled content AND can be recycled CCD’soffice, design shop and fabrication shop operate on 100% habitat-safe green

electricity from Portland General Electric. Where possible, we use recycled, reusable and refillable office products. Our company uses a proprietary water-filtration system that keeps concrete waste out of

the drains and water ways and recycles the water. We use a dust collection system to minimize wood and concrete dust and debris entering

our environment. Coulee Concrete Designs encourages clients to dismantle, use careful procedures for

demolition, and to donate remodeling materials to facilities such as The ReBuilding Center. Coulee Concrete Designs’ products are custom and timelessly beautiful, designed for non-

obsolescence from the start. Where applicable, we use rubber molds that can be re-used many times. We maximize the use of powder integral colors and water-based dyes and sealers instead of

solvent based products. Wherever possible, we maximize the use of reclaimed or salvaged wood. CCD’s concrete mix includes at least 36% of fly ash to help eliminate it from the

environment. Our products are finished using water based penetrating sealers and natural beeswax, an

FDA approved and food safe product. Our designs, when possible, incorporate the use of recycled glass, stone and metal for

inlays as decorative accents. Concrete provides thermal mass and will enhance heat performance and does not hold dust,

dust mites, mold or other allergens. When cured, our concrete off-gases nothing more than trace amounts of water.
