POSSIBLE ACTION TO TACKLE THE NEGATIVES EFFECTS.

1. Protect the national culture opposed to tourism.• Provide a first-hand encounter with the natural environment.

Zoological parks is not a good idea because this don't constitutes an ecotourism experience • Involve the local communities in the tourism process so that they

may benefit from it, thereby contributing to a better valuation of the natural resources.• Involve considerable participation and demands in knowledge on

the part of both leaders and participants.• x

Page 12: Costa Rica Tourism (1)

2. Promotion of tourism to protected areas, natural sites.

•Do not degrade the resource. This involve consumptive erosion of the natural environment. For exaple: Fishing may be classified as wildland tourism, and this can classified as ecotourism.•Oriente the tourims around the environment and not

around man.

Page 13: Costa Rica Tourism (1)

3. Ecotourism• Promote positive environmental ethics and fosters

behaviour in its participants.• Promote the wildlife and environment. The the

environment and not people should received "benefits" socially, economically, scientifically, managerially, and politically. At the very least, the environment must attain a net benefit, contributing to its sustainability and ecological integrity.• Increase the level of gratification in terms of

education or appreciation to population rather than get a physical achievement
