The MicroVention brand identity is built and strengthened by the consistent use of core graphic components such as the MicroVention corporate symbol, signature, color palette and typefaces (fonts). These elements are integral to any communication platform—events, software, marketing collateral, Web, presentations, email and anywhere the MicroVention brand is displayed.

The core graphic elements, guidelines and templates found in this document are designed to aid in creating consistent brand, product, and corporate messaging without deviation.

As our company expands its existing product lines and our branding grows, updates to this manual will be published and distributed.

Our symbol and signature are a visual way of identifying our business, products and services within our competitive marketplace. It is vital that these marks be used in a consistent manner.

LOGO USAGE IN TWO COLOR

The two color logo is the preferred version to use on all printed and online communication tools. If the gradient in the symbol cannot be acceptably reproduced, the solid version may be used.

LOGO USAGE IN ONE COLOR

These logos may be used when only one color is available for embroidery, printing or when information is faxed. If the gradient in the symbol cannot be acceptably reproduced, the solid version may be used.

If only one or two colors can be used for a specific marketing piece, use Pantone® inks. Ask your printer to provide you with ink draw downs before printing.

CMYK AND RGB COLORS

If Pantone colors are unavailable, please use the CMYK ( ) equivalents for all printing needs. The RGB ( ) colors are only to be used for on-screen needs such as web sites, email or PowerPoint presentations.

INCORRECT LOGO USAGE

Compliance with the following guidelines is essential to establishing and maintaining the MicroVention identity and brand. Presented on this page are some examples of incorrect uses of the MicroVention logo. There are, of course, other unacceptable variations that we don’t have room to show you. Do not alter the logo in any way. Always reproduce the logo directly from the authorized electronic art files without any alteration.

Graphic Guidelines

Incorrect Logo Usage

Do not alter the placement of the symbol or its proportional relationship to the letter forms.

Do not remove the symbol from the signature.

Do not expand, condense, rotate or in any way reshape the logo.

Do not substitute other typefaces, weights or styles.Note: Correct logo does not have dotted “i”s.

Do not use the symbol as a repeated pattern.

Do not use a blue other than the corporate blue,PMS 285.

Do not place a screen or border around the logo.

Do not place the logo on a varying background that does not offer sufficient contrast.

The MicroVention corporate logo is used as an example here. Please apply these

guidelines to all other logos contained in

this manual.

Do not use the OLD logo mark. Do not use the logo with a horizontal line.

All corporate and product logos are available to download in several different file formats on the MicroVention iPad application. This style guide will help anyone using the logos to know which type of file to use.

Take a moment to test these logos to see which work best for you. You’ll want to upload a set of logos on each computer or on your company server.

.EPS and .AI FILES Each of these logos are vector-based files that may be used with professional applications such as Adobe Illustrator®. They are provided in PMS spot ink colors, process (CMYK) color, black and white. Use .EPS or .AI files for any professional printing, design or signage needs. These files can be enlarged to any size without losing integrity (no rasterization).

.JPG FILESThese are pixel-based files in primarily RGB format that may be used with professional applications such as Adobe Photoshop® and desktop applications such as Microsoft Word®. For best results, do not enlarge over 120%.

.PNG FILES

.PNG files allow the logo to have a transparent background so they can be placed on top of fields of color without a white box frame around the logo. These are also pixel-based files in RGB format. Good for web or desktop publishing. For best results, do not enlarge over 120%.

In the background of many MicroVention pieces, there is a feature called the “MicroVention Wave”. It is important for branding that this structure be used in a consistent manner. Please follow these rules and guidelines to best comply with the MicroVention brand. Files are available upon request.

GUIDELINES(A) The wave should always be flowing upward from left to right. The cropping should be kept as close to the example below as possible.(B) The wave can be faded or blended to become a subtle element whether on a dark or light background.(C) The wave can be positioned at the top or the bottom of the page. If used at the bottom, it should incorporate a black gradient, set to overprint, to darken the graphic.

PRIMARY CORPORATE LOGO

This can be used when one or more complete corporate logos are used already with the same design layout. It can also be used as a promotional logo for advertising specialties and apparel. It is not to be used in areas determined to be critical in company name recognition.

RGB COLORS

RGB color values are provided for color matching for web graphics or screen images such as PowerPoint® presentations.

SECONDARY COLORS

The secondary colors below are to be used in com-bination with the “primary logo colors” and never in place of them. These colors can be used as accents or complements to the primary palette when creating marketing materials. They can also be used in a screened (lighter) version of the color.

PANTONE® COLORSYour primary Pantone (PMS) colors are: 285 C blue and metallic 8403 C platinum, or 425 C when metallic ink is not available. Ask your printer to provide you with ink draw downs before printing to ensure acceptable color.

VFC ACRONYM / TAGLINE

VFC is an acronym for Versatile range Fill Coil. The letters V, F and C are bolded and capitalized in the tagline to call attention to the meaning of the product name. This formatting should be followed for typeset text as well.

WHITE SPACE

Use the following printer specifications to maintain a consistent corporate look for any materials you create:

1. Letterhead and Second Sheet The letterhead and second sheet both print in two color and the printing bleeds on three sides.

2. Business Cards Your cards print in two color and bleeds on three sides. You have the option of embossing the logo. Your printer can rearrange these cards to best suit their press requirements.

3. #10, 9x12 and 10x13 Envelopes Each envelope prints in two color and bleeds on three sides. 4. Notecard and A6 Envelope The greeting card prints in two color on the front and is blank inside. The color bleeds on four sides. The card will score and fold in half. The envelope is size A6, prints in two color and bleeds on three sides.

5. Avery Mailing Labels #5614 Your mailing labels will print on a sheet of Avery Labels #5614. They print in two color.

6. Notepad The self-adhesive notepad is 3.75 x 5.75 inches, prints in two color and bleeds on three sides.

7. Fax Sheet Your fax sheet was created cleanly and simply to be printed from the pdf and photo copied.

9. Fonts The font family used on your corporate identity is Rotis™, including Rotis Sans Serif 55, 56, and 65.
