Who did you serve and what did you accomplish that day?

• Servants Heart is an organization that gathers volunteers to serve weekly. We have been volunteering all over the country for 13 years now and love to serve locally here in NJ. Many of our hundreds of volunteers come from our church (Cornerstone) but some come from the community around us. We serve at Homeless shelters, Church’s, mission housing, food pantries even helping some individuals that are in desperate need. Most of the work we do is building or construction type of work. For example the last two months and the next few months we are helping Streetlight ministry in a Elizabeth, NJ build a holistic ministry center. We show up with skilled and unskilled works every Saturday to assist them in there project. We accomplish lots on most of our Saturday because we have a large group that is consistent every week which allows us to be very organized.

What is your team’s plan for an ongoing relationship with the charity?• Servants Heart just started a 501c3 in the last

couple of month because we are so exicted about helping others. Our plan is to keep working in the poor and urban areas to see if we can attract more and more volunteers to serve in there communities. If you look at our website you will see some of the ministries we have helped this year. Are plan is foster more relationships with people and grow the serving community.

How would your charity benefit from receiving a portion of the prize

money?• If we where blessed with finical resources we would do a few

things. The biggest hurdle we have as an organization is trying to keep tools and equipment safe and on the job when we need it. Have money to purchase more tools and storage spots so that are tools are ready to help when need is one thing. Some of the others would be helping organization that are building with material. We can’t build if there is no material. Some of the huge road blocks are found when great people lack money to build there dreams in there community. Last year alone we estimate that we constructed over a million dollars worthy of free labor. Sadly we still have to find money for material. Although the neat thing that has happened around us, is companies coming forward to offer us cheap rates for material. So in short we would use the money for; construction material, tools, safety equipment to bless other organizations.
